"The Darkness song was far better and it was a proper Christmas song"

Just because some people happen to be celebrating a religious festival, it doesn't mean that all music has to be centered on that event. Do we demand that the No 1 at Diwali be centred on the festival of light?

Well some people prefer traditional Christmas songs at Christmas, not some screeching row of an excuse for music.

I often wonder if it's a status thing that people pretend to like crap just to be trendy.

The standard of singing these days is so poor, that live ,they sound like my neighbour in his bath, crucifying some song or other.

Come to think of it, most so called singers do,don't they ?

Bad singing is one thing, but there are some supposed 'artists' who sound less like a bathing neighbour, and more like one of those elderly ladies who can complain bitterly for hours on end - in the same, constant tone of voice, without taking a breath.

The most important part of music is tune. If you have something to say, tell us clearly: say it, write it, type it, just don't try to sing it!

Personally, I rather like some of the more traditional christmas tunes... 'O come, O come, Emmanuel' isn't bad, and, more recently, 'Walking in the air' has become a classic.
