I was thinking that there are still lots of fix that Emperor hardly needs. Here they are:

Plain Harkonnen inferiority in late game: I know that if you are good you can win with them , but IMO they are still the weakest. Their units gets annhilated from long range even before they can unload their high damage weapons, plus cant self repair.They lack of a decent artillery unit, and dont say that Inkvine is artillery please, its good only vs infantry.

They should have: a pad that repairs vehicles for free, or at least a decent artillery. Plus the Inkvine price looks TOO high to me for his limited usefulness

Fedakins: just ridiculous how overpowered and cheap they are.There's no real counter to them.

Contaminators: No need of talking

Adv carryall: Have you ever tried to move a group of them? Its a hard work due to the various bugs affecting them.

Saboteur: Decoration unit? Faster than an engineer, but rarely effective as them. Maybe they should get cloaking when idle, like the scout.

Atreides sniper: Whats the point of training infantry when you enemy has snipers?They just annhilate them.

Troopers: Slow fire rate and low health. They should be more like the General's ones.

Turrets: Flame requires a little range boost and Gunturret some damage boost. Look at the Atreides turrets, they just kick ass. Ordos need a little range upgrade for their advanced turret.

Deathhand: a little boost in blast radius would make it deadly as the other superweapons.

Devastator: A very little little boost to speed.

Now, EA sucks and wont make the patch.Cant you allmighty modmakers fix those things making Emperor my favorite RTS?

Much of what you've mentioned appears to be simply features of the units of the game, rather than 'bugs' that need to be patched. If Westwood had wanted the units to be more/less powerful, the units wouldn't have been released with their current statistics.

The only time a unit was tweaked was when the Atreides airdrone was so fast it could outrun missiles, which unbalanced the game due to total and unstoppable air superiority. Atreides still rule the skies with drones, the only difference is you're given a chance to actually counter them now.

All units in Emperor have a counter. Westwood tried to make the game balanced, remember? Fedaykin can be countered by combinations of scouts and anti-infantry units. As for Generals, Generals is Generals. This is Emperor. The units in Emperor may have equivalent or similar units to some units found in Generals, but the two games are different, and somehow, I think they're meant to be that way.

Finally, I think I could mod the game to accomodate all the features that you've requested, as they all involve a simple tweaking of the unit statistics, however it wouldn't be an official 'patch', and you wouldn't be able to play online with other people that don't have it installed, so I really don't see the point.

I still bevive that Harks cant stop atreides in any way,not using the subhouses(see overpowered fedakins).Unless they rush. There are few trick like deva drop, drawing mino's fire with scouts,Gunships, but you CANT stop a well balanced Atrides force with harks. Thats it. Im saying this since the times of Emperor-network, if you remember me,Ixian mace.

Tell me an hark's counter for fedakins.Flame tank?Trashed in 2 secs despite its 900(!) solaris.Inkivine?Easy to dodge.The only one that comes to my mind is Fremen sniper.

And as you pointed there are still the saboteur,fedakin,contaminator,Deva,Pop up turret problems. Which are MORE than enough to justfy a new patch. But again EA SUCKS, as always did.And its ridicolous how some people still belives that is good.The official website points here, and this is so sad.Sure, this place is great for any Dune fan like me, I still consider Gobalopper as paternal figure ;),but a serious company would have never done this. They had better producing their FIFA/NBA/NHL crap and leave RTS to more skilled people.

There are many things that I wouldn't mind being changed in the game, however like I mentioned before, even if a new 'patch' was made, unless it can get enough attention and somehow become necessary to install in order to play Emperor online, it would never get an 'official' status, which means that most people probably wouldn't want to, or be bothered downloading it and installing it.

Is there really a point in creating a new patch when most people aren't going to use it anyway?

Additionally, it would take awhile to gather information about what people exactly want to see fixed in the game, a new 'official' patch would have to address major issues and concerns about gameplay/bugs, rather than what people would like to see changed because they think a unit is too weak/strong, etc etc. Basically, agreeing on what the patch should modify would be a major hassle.

The patch modifications that you've requested are possible, however at this stage, it doesn't seem practical. Perhaps a poll should be created to see how much of the Emperor community here thinks a new patch would be appropriate.

Mine are just suggestions.Give yours, and lets see if we all can find some common point.

Err, right...

Have you ever checked to see how long it takes to make a feydaking? It takes a long time (not comparable to its price at all). Feyds are easily countered by fremen warriors (especially as feds cannot actually hurt fremen warriors...) and they can be easily run over by most harkonnen vehicles.

There is only one instance in which a feydakin might be considered over-powered in my opinion and that is when coupled with a projector tank.

hark vs atreides in a long game isnt as hard as u say it is...

atreides are so predictable.

guaranteed mass minos+drones

u just need to stop throwing wave after wave of inf lol

inkvines are THE best artillery on the game...

longest range on game and decent damage when massed

and actually...inf vs snipers is a breeze for the inf(if u dont suck)

due to there really slow firing rate

I fear that infantry will be easily crushed 'en masse by a couple of Minos...unless they are Sards or Feds.

Anyway THIS is the point, and you stated it:

To stop Atreides you must pressure them, or they will own you with their almost unstoppable Mino-Drone.

I dont like this at all.

Oh damn! You can't camp and just attack a guy a hour and a half into the game for the first time and instantly win, what a shame...

Look, Harkonnen can beat Atreides late, early, middle, whatever, its the player.

You can see that it is not a good idea to do balancing in a patch since most people won't agree with it. You must only balance things when a big majority of the users agree with it, like the Nod Artillery back in TS. It was downgraded because alot of people thought it was too strong.

Patches are more for fixing bugs and adding special new options/goodies

Inkivines suck???? u gotta learn playing Emp man, u ever tried to kill a mino hord with 10-20 inkivines? well iff u support them with some saws for fremn and some fremn in case a mino comes close enough to hit the inkivines( although if u use them right a mino shouldnt be able off hitting a inkivine) if u dont believe me then lets have a 1v1 and i ll burn u with inkies :D

Yeah, this morning I fooled around with Inkvines in skirmish aganist an hard Atr AI. Perhaps Im starting to learn their usefullness.

For example I just found that the slow Mongoose is an easy prey for the Invine...

Yes I know. It just trow units at you randomly.

A mino/Kobra/deva+carryall wall its enough to screw it.

Not to mention that you can use Ixian bombs with no fear of being intercepted.
