number of members

I was just woundering how many members there are on these forums. I have seen members with ID up to 2700 I think. but are there 3000?

Some members were deleted for having 0 posts since joining a long time ago

I believe that when someone is deleted, the id number is not, because cleaning it up would be such a slow process, and without purpose. So if the user in the middle was deleted, and a new one came, he would get a new number, and not take the vacant one.

This is because it would be a pain to search the data base for a vacant number every time. The id number is just for the purpose of id, not for counting members...
