I seriously doubt you would go to the trouble of measuring it, unless the Guild did, since the knowledge would be otherwise useless. I'm sure there were estimates, but I doubt any dedicated efforts would have been made.

No, lol, that is not correct. Even a SciFi writer wouldn't go so far as to say our galaxy had millions of habitable worlds :P The Known Universe, is as it suggests, all of the universe that is known. The planets are strewn throught what is likely thousands of galaxies, considering there are billions of such galaxies and the Guild can travel instantaneously to all of them.

no they do not know the whole universe. in House Corrino they go beyond the known universe by mistake.

Yes I remember that. I don't think though that the wayward heighliner was near any new planets, just lost in space.

I remember that part of Shaddam IV's title was, "Emperor of a Million Worlds." So maybe that's all they had mapped out.

I think the title "Emperor of a Million Worlds." was more of just a title. (although it could have been easily possible if it included uninhabitable planets, although worlds refers to habitable places)

I'm re-reading GeoD, and I think it has the most accurate description of the size of the known universe in the scene where there are 3 Fishspeakers of every planet in a 1100M2 room (IIRC).

You think that a writer wouldn`t go so far? Isaac Asimov, in Foundation, says at least 25 million of habitable planets only in the milky way.
