The death mask might have belonged to an actor who played the part of Agamennon in a play...In my opinion. I don't think that it actually belonged to the Agamennon of the Trojan War. Agamennon might also be a common name so there is no telling who its real owner is.

there are no actual dates i remind you, its a supposedly and accurate guess but nothing is certain

Yeah, it was a guess, I know. Still better than no date at all.

I've found some more info on that mask in my copy of the New Larousse Encyclopaedia of Mythology. The mask was discovered in a royal grave, and is believed by Schliemann to be that of Agammemnon. It goes on to say that it is most likely from the sixteenth century BC, which predates Homer's version of the king.

All dates BC and not precise:

1400-1200 - Mycenian civilisation. Trojan war probably within this era.

A little before 900 - Doric invasion of mainland Greece - Dark Age commences: nothing is written in this part of the world. The Dorians bring iron.

700 - Iliad is written down (NB it has been preserved in oral tradition for some time)

650 - Odyssey written down

420 - Atticisation of Iliad and Odyssey under Peisistratos

This may help.
