I installed the app HMONITOR as someone recomended on the forum.(tnks).

And it shows Cpu 1 and Cpu 2 temperatures how come ?

I also have a diag tool AIDA32 which is great, but under the sensor tab it shows cpu and aux temps, is the aux temp my graphics card ? i have a Nvidia geforce MMX 440 agp 128Mb card. With the latest Detanator drivers 45.23.

I'm a bit puzzled because I have no case fan just a cpu fan and power supp.fan.

Last night for instance room temp was 27 C and my cpu temp went up to 77 C and my motherboard at 65 C.

I will try buying a case fan and see what happens.

When I exit Empbd I notice that my cpu temp starts going down slowly back to around 44 C ?

Any help would be apreciated.

That's definately not good.. You might want to try and take the case off, and have an external fan blow cool air inside.. I doubt a single case fan will do the trick.

As you questions for the program, I gues someone who has it might be able to answer your questions..

Your motherboard has several sensors installed on it.(Have you ever looked after your temperature in the bios before?)

Hmonitor is able to read those sensors. :)

Nope, never seen temperature in any of my Bios systems.

Well yesterday I finally managed to visit my local PC shop and I bought a cooler master heat sink and fan for my pcu , another 256 Mb SDRAM stick and a case fan.

I installed all of the above and was amazed at the system boost which was achieved.

It's true Windows XPPro likes 512 Mb of Ram, I was truly amazed at the difference in performance.

The heat problems I was having have also been cured.

My Motherboard temp is now 44 C instead of 66 C,

my cpu temp has gone down from 70 c to 44 C.

So I am really a happy bunny now.

Whilst I'm posting this :

If anyone is having trouble with their dial up connection in XP,

I found a curious problem caused by Windows Patch SP1

There are two entries added to the Registry that shouldn't be there !

The path is HKey LocalMachine/System/Current Control Set/Services/Rasman/PPP/Eap/ delete reg keys 25 and 26.

Then restart your pc, this fix actually works and after restarting you should find that your dial up connection is there again, without having to change anything else !

I hope this tip will help someone who is having this problem too.

Then look deeper.

In the wast majority of motherboards, you'll find temperature sensors which can be read in the bios.

However, there are some extremely cheap boards which does not have this feature. Think of yourself as unlucky if you're owning such a motherboard ;)

I looked deeper, and found:

CPU fanspeed - 3614 RPM

System Fan speed - 2118 / 2194 RPM

CPU Temperature - 37 celcius / 98.5 ferhenheit(can't spell farhenheit ::) )

Is that good? It was around 18-20 degrees celcius(room temp) at the time.
