Many of you have already heard about this "new" virus. But, who made it, and why? Is it made by a corporation, so that people will buy their products (Anti-Virus products)? Or is it just another good hacker/programmer, who had nothing to do? What do ya' think?

Well since the NSA is reqruiting all ''GOD'' hackerz. It's probabley a hacker thats in desperate need of money.

I know Microsoft's virus team has contacted me with the notion that my server is relaying the thing. We are still into it although the fact that I am running Linux at the moment wsa a minor "setback" for them .. ;) So I am not a suspect for that anymore. We are trying to see if it has been spoofed somewhere.

Sofar no one has any knowledge on who has made it. Although reports of faulthy Microsoft software at Powerplants, Railway stations and US army equipment [ like in boats and planes ] are getting in. Not spreading any comforting ideas though .. .

The US government has outsourced most of there tech devisions to civilian companies. And the whole government is without a unified network stucture. The Pentagon although claimed stand alone from the internet has been breached 3 years ago. Ore mayby not but some one got arrested for doing it anyway. Non of the FBI departments are running the same Windows version, if running Windows at all. Where the ATM machines of a British bank have also been compromised recently, making you wonder which insightfull admin over there made the desission to hook them up to the internet in any way. . ..

Good hackers will start their own company or group and be government subcontractors rather then be in the government.

Hmm, I guess our transition militarily to Mac (due to less hackers on it) hasn't finished then.

Huh, strange. I just got a feeling natual viuses could be money-making machines too. How? Well, to protect yourself from, say, AIDs, you'll have to buy condoms, pills etc etc, otherwise, there is a risk of infection. On the other side, who made the AIDs/HIV? Some say it is biological warfare, but during the 1950's? We didn't have the technology back then. Aliens? Then isn't it more effective to invade Earth?

I ones heard of a story, that AID's is a common thing monkey's have in tropical parts of the world. One of the Western explorers one day, not having seen his wife for a few months saw one of those monkey's sitting on a branch. Well, the rest is up to you. . . .

Besides, pills won't protect you from AIDs. They are used to prevent another thing.

And if ailens would have wanted a virus they most likely use something more effective then aids.

Ever seen Mission Impossible 2. . or other films featuring the concept of pharmaseutical companies that release a virus to make money on the cure. . .

Just to make shure, the sobig viri are computer viri, not natural viri.

I think he meant that you'd have to protect yourself from that virus by buying virus protection software in the store.

Altough these days I don't think anyone is stupit enough to open such a virus.

Eric E., I don't think it has ANYTHING to do with being stupid or not. It has to do with greed AND (not to forget) the capacity of doing such a thing (doing a virus that really is such a threat while also looking natural, I have no idea if it can be done and with what equipment/specialists).

Look, software and real viruses follows the same path. Both requires protection. Who has the protection? The authorities, the government, the corporations, basically, the people with power. Now, how can they gain on their products? They must make something to make people buy protection, or, their products. In the cyberworld, we have software protections. Anti-virus programmes. But, if you take a closer look on, say, Nero Anti-Virus, you can notice that you'll have to buy a new product each year. And it is not cheap, I can tell you (unless you download it, which is why they make regulations and systems against downloading these things, so that you have to buy them).

Sure, real viruses like AIDS don't have cures, but they have measures that can make your sex-life secure. Condoms, for example.

There is also the fact that the AIDS-outbreak happened in three countries at the same time: India, Africa and the United States. Coinscidence?

Of course it has, I get virusses in my email every day, Still I don't open them. I don't think anyone does.

This is a funny thought. I am registered in a Swedish server, and I have a Swedish email account. Still, I don't get any commercial-garbage, viruses, links to porn-sites (unless I accidently push "send email" or something like that, if I ever do). I hear people get tonnes of pure sh_t in their email all around the globe. Or maybe I don't use my email enough? Maybe someone here should consider registering to a Swedish mailbox too :) ?

It seems to me that the point of the sobig worm is being overlooked, the message included in the virus is a warning to Microsoft to clean up their act and stop selling defective software, that is time consuming for users to fix.

I believe that the Hacker responsible is someone with an obvious grudge against the Microsoft Corporation, someone who decided to do something that would cost Microsoft alot of money to sort out.

But that's only food for thought !

If the Hacker is that good then they probably will never find him.

As for Aids, well yes one wonders if it was a Biological weapon that got out of control,

the possibility is a strong one, and the more one thinks about it, to be really synical, maybe someone intended wiping out the African people as a whole and something went wrong.

I read that Aids is not a natural virus anyway, and as all viruses mutate is would be virtually impossible to prove where, it originated.

It is something we all now have to live with, so if the person or persons responsible know what they have done, may their balls turn green wither and fall off ! LOL

Maybe a connection from 1947 to 1950? After all, three years of researching on "otherworldly" things can occur in one discovery or two. But this brings up the question: from where did the Black Death and Spanish Flu arrive from? Were they weapons too? ...
