The Omnius garbage is in the original books (or did you completly forget all the references to the thinking machines and the Butlerian Jihad.)

Omnius is not in original novels. It does state that they defeated the machines, there is the great convention and no one is allowed to make a thinking machine. It does little to suggest that "Omnius" or any other thinking machine will be a threat.

What I meant to say is that references to the Thinking Machines and the Butlerian Jihad are in the originals. Just not the name 'Omnius'. But the concept of men ruled by AI was in the originals. So, the 'Omnius garbage' isn't total garbage.

BTW, in that scene in House Corrino with D'murr, he also says that that enemy "hates us for what we are". I really think it are the Omnius probes.

KJA & BH are widely quoted as saying repeatedly that "once the Legend of Dune Trilogy is finished, you will SEE why we had to do those books before writing Dune 7."

I don't know, I want to believe they'll throw us a curveball come Dune 7 as far as who the Big Evil is (hard to do, since Frank wrote the outline they're supposedly going off "religiously" written almost 2 decades ago... to deviate from it would be sacrilege I think you'll all agree), but with 2 out of 3 books so far in this Legends of Dune trilogy pretty much wholly focusing on the Thinking Machine War it's hard to expect anything too unexpected. It's highly unlikely some third, COMPLETELY unmentioned as-of-yet party just enters stage in the third book... no, it's going to be some vestige of the Thinking Machines, be it Omnius, one of the Titans & a bunch of cymeks, or otherwise.

To sum it all up in Dune 7, it's not so much a question of who the Big Evil will be at large, but rather individually who, how many, how [it/they survived 13,000+ years], & why [it/they would attack & why it/they waited so long].
