Hi,

I'm new to this game, although I played the original Dune 2 years ago.  Anyways, with that game, I could build multiple factories and/or barracks to produce units faster.  I can't figure out how to get it to work in Emperor, though.  I build two factories, and have different units qeued up, but only one factory spits anything out.  Any advice would be appreciated!

The game is designed to have unit groups. Like

From Barracks or

From Factory or

From Fremen Camp

You can be building one unit at a time per each group.

Im not sure, but I don't think having multiple speeds up production.

To make units come out of different buildings, make them primary by clicking on them when the Deploy sign comes up.

ZAC's note:

If you have a Harkonnen, Atreides, and Ordos Factory, if you build an MCV, the MCV will deploy into whichever Houses Constuction Yard the MCV came out of.

Yes. What I don't like is when you have more than one kind of factory or barracks, say Ordos and Harkonnan for example, and you build a unit, say a laser tank. This puts the Ordos AND the Harkonnan factory into whatever it is they do when a unit is being built. And if I then try and build a Harkonnan missile tank, it is merely put on the waiting list! Not built even though it is in a different factory! why?

Because it comes in the same category of unit-types. It was done for balancing I think. Otherwise allies could exchange factories and receive a big bonus...

Because Emperor is half-baked.

Besides the gameplay-ruining bugs, this is the biggest detriment to Emperor gameplay.

Well thank-you for your valuable contribution. I think just building units in different house's factories at the same time would be alright. Two different factories would be interesting, but they'd need more light units. Most of them are heavy. Maybe bring back the Raider or the Quad.

Yeah I have posted several topics about this very issue on the old boards.

Not many people seem to appreciate the much-deeper gameplay involved with being able to make light and heavy vehilcles at the same time like in Dune 2.   For this reason, Dune 2 is a much better and more fun game than Emperor.

After having this in Dune 2 and not having it in Emperor, all I feel is frustration.    It is soooooooooooooooo much nicer to build different types of units at the exact same time.

To make multiple unit types come out of different factories would probably take an hour of development time at the most.  I bet it would just require a tiny bit of tweaking.   The one major thing they'd need to do in a 1.10 patch besides fix the bugs would be to fix this oversight.

I suggest everyone play Dune 2 so you can see just how much better it is to have light and heavy vehicles being made at the same time.   Once you experience this, I bet you will curse Emperor for robbing you of this feature.

Navaros, suggestion: sell Emperor to someone who can appreciate it.

I like it the way as in Emperor. But though, you shouldn't have increased speed. But that's my point...
