i picked up Dune @ Half-Price Books for about 3 bucks.

I got both the cd and the floppy disks. Speaking of which, i was shocked today when i found Dune II in its original box with original floppy disks, manual, keyboard commands, ordering info, etc @ Half-Price books for $1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it. I'd obtained the cd from a friend but had never seen the game in it's original form and in its box with manual etc... i pulled it off the market--which is why i have the disks...

between my little brother and i, we could probably rig something like that up. i mean, i got all summer =)--although, i'm gonna try and transfer dune the book into dune the stage play--hmmmmmmmmmm...

when i rush, i use Ordos cuz they start with 4 combat tanks as opposed to harkonnens 2 and atredies' 2. however, i'm not an Ordos person. they creep me out =) i'm atredies all the way--fremen actually (hence the name). i love atreides. strangely though, i always find myself playing as harkonnen...

Glory Hallelujah! I'm back in action! Thanx ya'll Funny, this whole problem appeared the day Prima announced Dune 3000 strategy guide. I was gonna jump on WWO and give the word about it--i guess it's a little too late now ;=) Anyway, thanx for the help--i'm just a highschool freshman. Now, it's time to re-download all the Dune stuff I had before...

The web site makes the mini-series look good--but they've left out my favorite character--Duncan Idaho. They've also left out Rabban. How can you have the movie without Rabban????? Beside the Baron, he's the chief bad guy. This disturbs me. Maybe they haven't cast them yet--or they haven't put them on their site. Whatever the case...I hope they have Duncan! I also hope this movie isn't as Dark as Lynch's one. I understand that Lynch was trying to present the pure EVIL of the Harkonnens. But, the first half was just to gross (in my opinion). I liked the second half better. The entire movie was cool in any case. Well, that's just my opinion. I really shouldn't be talking, because i don't get the sci-fi channel--grrrrrrrrrrrr. When I get famous that'll change... I guess I'll just get someone to record the series for me--(sigh)

thanx ya'll for your help i'm currently downloading DirectX 7.0a Full Installation Before the game started messing up, I installed an old game. I have no memory of doing so, but apparently i installed DirectX 4.6 I installed Dune2k's DirectX 5.0 but the game still wouldn't work. Let's see if DirectX 7.0a does anything. Now, about this file association--what should I associate .dat files with? I've just set it for NONE. Is that right?

i'm rather disturbed @ the moment. i can't play dune 2000 anymore. i had to take it off for a moment. then i reinstalled it. i was able to play it for a while then, i tried to open it, and i got an error message involving Dune.dat i went into my file manager and found that all my .dat files had mysteriously been transformed into media files. i switched it to 'associate with no particular file type' and reinstalled the game. it still won't work. i'm rather disturbed @ the moment. somebody pls help me. Westwood hasn't--yet

i really like dune i'm a dune person but i agree, the missions are similar. red alert has probably the best missions i've ever seen. they're versatile and intriguing. u never get bored of them

Dune 2000 is pre-dune? well, that changes everything. ordos is fine with me for a pre-dune game. i'm just stuck in the dune universe, so forgive me if i'm rather prejudice. i like the idea of other houses in the thick of the battle. i'm just stuck in the book. somebody save me. i agree, the fremen should be stronger.

i disagree the dune games from westwood really screwed the whole thing up ordos do not exist, they never did exist, they never will exist the smugglers, on the other hand, smuggle illegal weapons and other sorts to their hidden refineries and storehouses on dune to do has they please i really don't know why i'm talking, i'm a fremen guy ;) but i thought i'd put my say in

oh whenever i uninstall and reinstall d2k it says i have v. 1.12 you're probably right though--it's wwonline 1.12

hey, i'm reading Dune Messiah, and they keep talking about the 'Dune Tarot' clouding people's presience vision. i still haven't figured out what the Dune Tarot is. Maybe i'm just blind... could somebody clue me in?

here's the thing...like it or not--i have vs 1.12 if u haven't played on WW online lately, log on. You should receive an upgrade. the patch doesn't register in the Dune 2000 file, but if you uninstall and reinstall D2k you'll get a message asking if u want to install 1.00 over 1.12 i don't know what the upgrade does--maybe improve connections and game speed online, but if you don't have it, and you play somebody who does have it, you'll probably hit a 'game out of sync' PROBABLY Like i said, i have no clue what this upgrade has. All i know is i have dune2k vs. 1.12

i dunno about lan, but internet works just fine for me i got vs 1.12 though. if u get an out of sync it may be cause u got an old version of the game. maybe.
