  1. Maybe you mean Empire Earth?
  2. I see Star treks/wars seem to spawn a lot of awful game according to this thread, or maybe it's simply the same game and everyone calls it differently. Never played any one of those games, no I know I don't regret it. Also, did I mention UFO: Aftermath is crap? -Shiroko
  3. I heard IRA guys used to shoot in the leg dug dealers. -Shiroko
  4. Ah, I hate goblin decks, and goblin elite's aren't good anyway. -Shiroko
  5. I don't see the asteroid thing working so easily. You must hit it when it's far away, it's moving in an immense speed, and you need to calculate energy disposed from nuke to see what kind of asteroid and speed can you divert, I believe the plain is due to fail but I can't be sure without hard numbers. I'd comment of the rest of the discussion but it ain't so interesting since we're endlessly discussing these stuff anyway. The asteroid thingy on the other hand... now that's new to the board. -Shiroko
  6. Oh goody, finally this board is on the direction I want it... -Shiroko
  7. UFO Aftermath is also awful. I think it's probably the only game I didn't want to finish in the last couple of years. It's like taking all the fun out of X-Com and then letting yuo play it. -Shiroko
  8. I only played very little of generals cause I was in the military, but what is so bad at it? My initial impression was that it looks very good and has interesting untis for multiplayer. Did I miss anything? -Shiroko
  9. Never heard of it, what kind of game is this anyway?
  10. Actually in C&C's the prize will go to Tiberian Sun, which with all its hype convinced me rather fast it was bad. Rather boring maps graphics and units resulted in a medioacre campaign and a much worse multiplayer experience where people could have a game for hours only to have it end because someone used an engineer. (Since this was pretty much the only really effective way to win without having twice the forces of your enemy. -Shiroko
  11. And don't offer some odd 3rd party games (Though these will be accepted) I'm more interested in games that everyone believed they gonna be great until someone actually played them. I'm purposely won't include my example for now. -Shiroko
  12. I didn't say he doesn't make any decisions, I said he doesn't make them by himself but with help from people which are much more expert at: Military, economy, socialogy and diplomacy. -Shiroko
  13. Would you enjoy playing chess with 3 people telling you what to do? Probably different things? No, and chess isn't a teams games. More important qualities in a leader is charisma, loyality, bold and not too egomaniac. Since I've seen prime ministers doing tons of mistakes because they thought they know best. Sometimes knowing you surely don't know best, can only help. -Shiroko
  14. Front page at Gamespot? Nah I'd settle for top board in the boards list here. -Shiroko
  15. Yes, I've also seen him show more intelligance than the average person. And imagine you have a chess game, where 3 excellent chess players advise you, and simply tell you what could happen from each choice. You no longer need the big brains to calculate anything, you just need to decide what fits you. (I see this chess analogy will be great....) -Shiroko
  16. If only I could bump the entire board to somewhere.... That would certainly help. :- -Shiroko
  17. He needs to have good advisors, and count on them, his main importance should be in deciding on which way he'll take. He doesn't need to figure the way, he needs to choose based on the pros can cons of each. And that's more a personality question than brains. (Though if he is plain dumb that's too much, and Bush is not dumb as a lot of people think) -Shiroko Coming soon: The Complete Bush FAQ!!!
  18. Honestly, you all miss the point. I don't need a leader to eat pretzels ride segways and speak with excellent grammer. Sure those can't harm. But I'm willing to give them up for some more important leadership qualities. Decisivness for example, and the understand you don't know what's best, so you better count up on your advisors. I've seen much more intellectual and smart people do a lot worse. Brains is not the most important thing for a leader, even if it would seem like it at first sight. -Shiroko (Oh goody, now we got the board going)
  19. Contrary to what people might think, reinstalling a democracy after a dictator can be hard. Will take time and resources, but I honestly believe Iraq can manage, and have nicer life than with Saddam. -Shiroko
  20. Actually we have fans, and having shit hitting them here is a national sport. I'd add a picture, but you might find it offensive so here's a link: http://www.sydes.net/jokes/pictures/s/shit_hits_the_fan.jpg Now seriously, the problem about "pausing" the violance is that there are simply palestinians against it, and that they're are currently not controled by their authorities. The palestinians avoid fighting their fanatics (As do we probably, but our fanatics are much less troublesome compared to the palestinians) -Shiroko P.S. I hope Crusher won't get annoyed about jokes in the middle of this thread, oh well. Sorry.
  21. All media is biased, some less some more. If you see it only in Fox News, it's obviously because you don't agree with them. People don't see a station/paper as biased if it fits with their agenda usually. Anyway, looking up info on the internet is not a solution. Simply because I read a bad newspaper every morning, and I ain't gonna trade it for the net, for the simple reason I can't surf and eat comfortably. Though it's a good base rule to check and not automatically believe what's in the media. A movie like Farenheit 9/11, is a good example to how media might work. You must know to question those things. -Shiroko
  22. Now that's bumping in its best I must say.... -Shiroko
  23. I like Bush... :) (This seems to arouse problems on demand... Go figure...) -Shiroko
  24. What will we be awarding?
  25. Should be Unreal Tournament 2006 which should be using the Unreal 3.0 engine. But there might be a singleplayer Unreal 3 game.
