  1. think of it like a huge atomic powered jet engine. the jet fire burns straight up, propelling the device straight down into the core of the planet. the children of dune movie provides a good visual for this. if set to a high level and given enough fuel, it will burn into the core of planet, causing some form of crustal breach, allowing the super pressured contents of the planet's core to rise up and well, adios amigos. ever see the movie Backdraft? guy opens the door, letting the air in and WWOOOSSHH.
  2. 15 hours of the original Dune would be a gift from heaven... the banquet scene alone would have me tingling. ive always felt shafted at the banquet scene in the miniseries...so much happened during the book...but the movie it was..a banquet.
  3. reading MC now...so far its fairly decent. ginjo is pissing me off though. and the whole introduction to the ginaz people could have been done sooner than the end of the first quarter of the book. could have been more drawn out too...it was like turning the page and falling down the stairs to another death that was pretty much pointless.
  4. for a golden path...I'd have to let my spiritual side take over for this. when humans are ready to be set loose upon the universe, then it will happen. right now, i honestly don't think we deserve whatever is out there.

    Leto II

currently reading the series a 2nd time through and coincidentally im reading GEOD right now. Something for my own personal clarification though....the Typhoon Struggle, Kralizec, that is mentioned in the last sections of CoD... the Fremen believe its the final war at the end of the universe. But from what I've read in this thread, is the Typhoon Struggle Leto II's enforced tranquility? or is he just preparing them for it. I remember a part where Leto v2.0 says that there will be wars after he goes back into the sand... This has been confusing me for a bit, heh.
  6. read the thread. changed compatibility to win95, 98, 2000, etc. doesn't run on any of them. I get to the first screen, purple face thing, and it stops there. turned off norton, nothing. deinstalled norton, nothing... went to my office, downloaded onto win2k. plays fine. >whine< i wanna play this at home ~_~
  7. now that ive downloaded this...how do i go about getting it to run on windows xp? =P
  8. First off, I'd like to say hello. Been looking for a Dune MB for a while...heh. and nevermind the other part, was revealed in another thread ;)
