A mutator adds or replaces data so that it changes the game rules. You can build other units or some units are modified, for example.
-
I see. And what about that tank thingie... the Guild Niab Tank if I am not mistaken?
-
There is one unit I never read about... The Guild Maker. I haven't been playing with the Guild as a subhouse yet. So please tell me: is this such a bad unit?
-
He does this work for Dune 2000 also? I've been through all the missions on normal succesfully, but if I would have known that it would have been a hell lot easier >:( !
-
You have to wreck a vehicle first, don't we. And can't airunits land on the place where the crate is?
-
Does anyone know a good mutator that lets you play as the imperial side?
-
I'm surprised I haven't read this anywhere. Maybe it's because I have no multyplayer experience... (or I just don't read very well :) ) O well here goes. Build/Order about 10-12 Orni's/Gunships and built 3-4 Landing Pads, for fast reloading. This way you have a very good force to take out any unit that has no anti-aircaft properties, or attack some structures. Crate hunting is also quite easy. But again, I don't have any multiplayer experience... but it works for me against the AI.

Alright then, and what about multiple starports & palaces?
-
I alwasy imagine that if an infantry gets hit by a rocket or something, it only does 'splash damage' to him. But he, can you explain that heat theory to us, or would that be to complicated for my XXS sized brains :-[ ?
-
Alright, I'll probably sound like a newbie posting this question... but ok. Does having more of the same building ( for example, three barracks) increase your building speed? I once read it does, but I don't understand how it could.
-
Your tips are very good but you made a little mistake: Leeches cannot damage another leech ;) .
-
Yes, you have made it clear for me. Thanx!

What a brilliant idea to bind an number to the ixian projectors, Exo Ehereal. How come I didn't think of that...
-
What I meant was increasing the differences by altering their repairing possibilities.
-
Well I beat it anyway. I just build a Fremen Camp and sent about 10 Fremen Fedaykins to attack and I finished the worm with some remaining forces. Just in case you were interested.
-
I was just wondering why the repair facility/pad has been removed from this game. Could WW have done that to increase the differences between the Houses?
-
I hear contrary stories about those energy balls. Some people think it's the Guild Flyers, other people say it's the Mega Cannon. So which one is it? The balls seem to come out of nowhere:'(...
-
Ok I'm in the Atreides final mission and I've about 10-15 minutes left to kill the Emperor Worm. All my ornithopters are destroyed by Ordos AA troopers and the units I move towards the Worm are slaughterd by unknown energy balls. Any suggestions on how I could still win this one?

Not being good is no excuse to not playing Dune! It are the best games ever :)! Stop whining and practise to get better. I'm not flaming you now, but it's the truth really! I lost the count on how many hours I've been playing, It's so damn fun!!
-
I know this is an old game, but I am still wondering what the exact difference is between Atr/Ord/Hark. troopers, Sardaukar and Fremen Troopers. They seem to be all the same to me, but the firepower of the normal troopers are rated as 'medium' and that of the Sards and Fremen are rated as 'heavy'.
-
I thought the Ordos let the Emp freeze to death on their own planet, because the mentat said "our pawn, in our game".
-
Little thoughts about acid and gasses...
Gert-Jan replied to Exo Etherial's topic in Emperor: Battle for Dune
Or the Ordos have found a very cheap way to produce a mixture. (Whow I can actually understand what you guys are talking about I feel so intelligent! ;) ) -
I still don't understand why Atreides are weak in the beginning of the battle. Aren't Kindjal inf. and snipers enough to defend against most attacks? And Mongooses are powerful and AA so what's the problem with everyone? (or everybody, I never know whitch one is correct).
-
I'm quite new to Emperor. I'm playing the Atreides campaign on easy difficulty (yeah I know it's lame). But I've played Dune 1, Dune 2 and Dune 2000 for a very, VERY long time, so I'm not exactly new to Dune. And I hope to have time to play online soon, and I'm not planning on losing! ;) just kidding

I learn by playing skirmish against multiple cpu opponents. I know they aren't as good as humans but it still often forces you to build your forces as fast as you can, thus learning a balance in building units and collecting spice I think Westwood should have included a 'spectator mode', just like in Unreal Tournament. Avoid double post. Use the Modify button ;) [tt]Thank you and enjoy your day at Fed2k ~ CiD[/tt]
