I wonder where all Iraq's army went?

Well, US captured about 10.000.

Maybe they killed another (I dunno...) 20.000.

On the northern front there are abour 125.000.

And the Iraq's army had about 400.000 men. Where is the rest?

The people that had some benefit from him...

Or the people that are fiercely correct, like would fight for honor, people that won't betray their commanders no matter what.

This will sound a bit paranoid, but it has occured to me as being odd: Has anyone actually seen anything to say that the Republican Guard existed in such a large force? I've not seen a single picture. I've heard reports saying so many were wiped out, but I've also seen a lot of journalists saying they've seen no trace of them. And they were supposed to have a lot of tanks. I've seen one destroyed tank, from a week or so ago, about 80 miles from Baghdad.

There were about 2000 and so tanks...

"I smell a plot breweing"

Who knows? Maybe Saddam is waiting for the US troops to occupy all of Baghdad and then Nuke it up sky high...

He may have a trap for the US, you know...

I dunno what he's waiting for (maybe for electricity to be able to press the button LOL).

About the tanks, well that was an estimation I heard on the news.

His army is most probably self-demobilised. But anyway, there are still rumors of loyal forces on north. Anyway, Kurdis and US troops conquered Kirkuk. They will take now just Tikrit and Mosul, and Iraq is free.

Thousands left the northern front as the Fifth Army Corps surrendered.

They are heading home in civilian clothes without shoes and weapons.

(this reminds me of the Soviet intervention in Czechoslovakia...)

I think he meant the AKs...

Russia has made a fortune with the selling of AKs through the world.

Before 1989, Russia has serious competition on the weapons' black market aside US. Guess who ;D

Nearly all iraqi weapons are russian (between else T-72 tanks and MiG-29 fighters - newest known addition, imported in 1989). I ment the importing hasn't stopped very long time ago.

Isn't there a T-80? Is that a newer tank but not as strong as the T-72?

The current weapon of choice is the RPG though, those things are used all over the place. Almost as prevalent as the AK's it seems now.
