My mom's friend at work lives near here. She found a goat wondering around and it stayed inside her basement. We set it up outside to eat grass whiie its chained up. I'm wondering if you guys who maybe grew up on a farm know any good ways to gain its trust.

Of course some people just seem to have a way with animals! ;)

Depends on the animal. one way i gain trust of cats, is with food. put some food on the ground and wait for them to come up to it then WHAM! err just joking about the wham part. Then you gradually put teh food closer and closer to yourself. Back at home where i live we have some foxes that have become more tame as we feed them and once one got around 5 feet from me. But animals can always turn on you so be careful.

You arn't keeping it in your basement are you? Or chained up 24/7? Best bet: Take it to an auction and sell it. Make a couple bucks and it ends up on a farm. Although you'd look pretty stupid selling a single goat.

What type of goat? Male, female, kid?

Btw, as for gaining it's trust, just don't beat it. They never get too friendly.

You don't live in the city, do you?

P.S. I used to raise goats, my uncle still raises sheep.

We'r keeping it chained. We was hopeing it would eat some are grass up for us.

It seemed to get along with my Dad just fine, when he saw it he said "baaaah" back to it. When he left for a minute it went to crying for him. Funny thing is he was the one who chained it up not me! ::) ;D

I don't live in the city, and its partly grown. I can't say for sure if its male or female probbly male though. its part black and white and sort of Aggressive. Just wondering if there were any easy ways to gain a bi(u)lly's trust. :)
