Caid, your speculating on why Constantine chose christianity and chose to enforce it. Earth says political reasons, that makes sense. But it's hard to know for sure why he did it when he did not state such a reason.

The bible can say they were homosexual for all I care, the majority of the Jewish community did not believe Jesus was the messiah, so the very idea that he is the messiah was by the majority seen as extremely false - the very definition of a cult. It isn't hard to deceive a lot of people. A lot of people believe John Edwards, and he does it easy and it's pretty funny that they believe him. He does miracles, he talks to the dead! Haha.

It doesn't matter who was right. The definition of a cult is a set of beliefs (or belief) that is seen as extremely false. It doesn't need evidence to be shown right now to support that Jesus did not have the majority of the Jewish community to follow him, now if you want to say the contrary, bring forth evidence I compel you! ;)

Iulianus, the next emperor was against christianity, showing that not everyone agreed.

And the fact that he failed at re-imposing the old Roman religion shows that it was the people who were for Christianity, not the rulers.

Besides, all Constantine did was to make Christianity legal (before him, being a Christian used to be a capital crime). In other words, he only granted religious freedom, without imposing anything.
