USA is just using the UN votes thingy as a shield for their attack, and getting the countries that depend on USA-via-their-country-trade heavily to vote.....obviously that is really stupid.

USA will strike no matter what. They actually just want their oil fields

USA will strike unless Saddam destroys ALL his oil fields

oops, you meant Saddam destroys ALL his weapons.

it is France that is after the Oil. If saddam destroys his Oil, then France might actually help attack him- not like they'd do much though, except teach Iraqi soldiers how to raise white flags.

Both France and US have oil interests. Of course, since who gets control on ressources affects oil prices for everyone. And since when US ever ask Saddam to disarm "ALL his weapons"?... You didn't meant guns, did ya? Isn't it missiles with too long range, bio/chemical (furnished by USA) and nuclear?

About weapons, US gvt is now giving ridiculous amounts of "agricultural help" (bio/chemical) to Turkey and Israel as it did with Iraq. And Turkey is using it abundantly (on prisoners/dissidents namely: they gased some prisoners). They also used US-furnished armament against unarmed Kurds. Anyone here to say me US officials aren't doing this? Heck, Israel is 2nd most armed coutry in the world!

Israel uses own tanks (Merkava), own planes (Kfir), own guns, electronics etc. Of course some support of the West is there, but not because they want to control Israeli aggression against Iraq, but to ensure security of only democratic country in the region. USA armed Iraqi Kurdis, which can spread the war into the Turkey if USA won't intervene. If USA retreats, it is sure Saddam will move his army to north and slaughter them. As "victorious" he would be respected by other arab countries and then he will lead an offensive against Israel. Due to both will be nuclear powers, such apocalypse cannot be permitted. Oil is the least important thing.

Israel have other tanks and planes than the Merkava and Kfir. Under the first Gulf war the allies helped the shiite moslems against Saddam but suddenly they though "oups they'll prolly be as fanatic as the Iranians, we can't have that" so they led the republican guard slaughter them. Also it's not only Saddam that has been after the Kurds, these people have no home, why don't we take a part of Turkey and a part of Iraq after the war and claim it to be Kurdistan?

The Kurds would be likely to aid with 70.000 men against Turkey as well.

The US wants to control the oil business by invading iraq.

Kuwait already asked the US to invade iran after that.

That will not go so easily as iran is the major oil supplier for japan, china and the complete middle east.

Of course, Israel uses also some F-16s. Due to Turkey doesn't support US troops on their land, they have responsibility over their own Kurdis.

and M60 (the tank) and M113 and Apache etc, now offcourse they paid money for this but as you say it's in the US's interrest to keep Israel as strong as possible.

What I ment about the Kurds is that Saddam isn't the only one to have treated them like crap, Turkey has issues on the Human right erae as well.

Actually, Switzerland just joined recently.

switzerland will not support the war in my thoughts, i have always looked at them as a pacifst nation.

In history, Switzerland looks pretty "total neutrality" to me. Which doesn't mean it is peaceful but that it loaned money to who asked (peaceful or not), that it simply did not move and so on. So I would guess it will only "honor the current obligations", no more.

But what are Switzerland's actual obligations exactly? Someone knows?
