Vanguard3000
Mahdi: Actually, in Dune Paul used both a rapier and a shorter dagger, like in Spanish Rennaissance times.
Mahdi
Ah, of course, how stupid of me. I was even thinking of that fight when I posted the message about the rapier. Anyone know what that form of combat is named?
Vanguard3000
I Googled it and came up with this:http://www.martinez-destreza.com/fenweap.htmI think it's Italian Smallsword. That, or just Spanish Rapier with sword and dagger ("La Verdadera Destreza" - "The True Art and Skill").

TMA_1
wouldnt it be neat to see two swordsmen using totally different cultural techneques fighting against eachother? That would be awesome. Also, it probably has been mentioned, I havent read House Atreides forever so sorry if this sounds kinda dumb, but does anybody remember that weapon that fenring used to kill one of the concubines? It was a richesian weapon that opened up and kinda looked like a "light sabre" dagger. It didnt actually make wounds on the body but stimulated the nervous system of the person attacked and would basically kill them by tricking the body into it? hmmm hope somebody remembers.
