emprworm
The hate in France has grown to such an extreme that the Simon Wiesenthal Center issued a first ever travel advisory for jews traveling to France. TRAVEL ADVISORY FRANCE - In the last 18 months there have been over 400 hate crimes against Jewish targets in France including, in recent days, arson attacks against synagogues, Jewish institutions, beatings of Jewish school children and pedestrians and other acts of threats and intimidation in Paris, Marseilles, Lyon and other communities. As a result, the Simon Wiesenthal Center urges Jewish travelers to France to exercise extreme caution while traveling to that country.http://www.wiesenthal.com/social/press/pr_item.cfm?ItemID=5470

Caid Ivik
French were always hard-core nationalists.
Anathema
Old news. Why do you think Le Pen was so popular?
Edric O
I'm sorry to hear that...Oh well, at least the French don't go bombing small countries to oblivion, like someone else I know does...
Dunenewt
Old news. Why do you think Le Pen was so popular?Thats what I explained about in the other threadBTW - I'm surprised there are no French members, with Cyro being French - maybe Emprworm has scared them away j/k j/k
emprworm
i wouldn't think that everyone in france would agree with anti-semitism. I am only pointing out that as a country it is a dangerous place for Jews. ALl you need is a few anti-jewish hatemongers per 100 people and you have a danger zone. nampigai
and Anti-semitisme does not excist in the US?
Terror
well, it does not realy have to be anti semitism is france. But yes they are nationalists, and i kinda hate that. If they could they would realy like to make french the world language. They are just too arrogant :-
Caid Ivik
Antisemitism is everywhere. Jews were (and might be still) a big financial force, so lazy whites were jealous.
nampigai
butone thing emprworm, yes I agree that killing people because of their beliefs is wrong.
Anathema
The large Jewish part in the financial sector has nothing to do with lazyness or hard working on either side. Jews were rejected from labour guilds for centuries and thus were forced into alternative occupations such as trade and philosophy.
Caid Ivik
I ment psychical laziness. But there weren't much jewish peasants, all were traders.
nemafakei
Mainly because the landed tend to be those who have been settled there for a very long time, and Jews in Europe rarely fall into that category.
Inoculator9
Well, I agree with Nuker for his point there. Jews weren't allowed into labor guilds for a while, so the only direction they could go towards was best encompassed by the titles of trade and philosophy. This has given established Jewish communities an emphasis towards to higher education and learning, and the great necessity for money. I know this from experience, in Chicago, the Jewish part of my family is all very well educated, possess respectable executive career positions, and are all very rich without exception.I have little opinion to offer with regards to France, except that they tend towards the snobbish end of the spectrum and have completely forgotten how much they suffered in WW2, along with the fact that many countries dug them out. nampigai
to go back to antisemitism or racism in general, Denmark has some of the most liberal laws on the issue. DNSP-Dansk Nationalsocialistisk Parti sounds a bit like Deutsche National Socialistische Arbeiter Partei no? I won't say that antisimitism has flourished here but the general stand on the Israel conflict isn't in the Israeli governments favor, not even among the danish jews (except the ortodoks)If you look at France's history you'll notice it had colonies, some of them with Islam as main religion. Some of these moved to France wich is perfectly fine. But with the conflict in Israel tension will get high and Islamic fundamentlists will want to get 'even' on the the jewish people for what they do (allthough they have nothing to do with it)As I recall some of the same things happened in USA with Mosks and people from the middleeast after 9-11. Am I not right?
emprworm
As I recall some of the same things happened in USA with Mosks and people from the middleeast after 9-11. Am I not right?that is true. it happened....then it stopped. France is nothing like this. It happens.....it continues to happen.....it simply continues to happen. Caid Ivik
Mainly because the landed tend to be those who have been settled there for a very long time, and Jews in Europe rarely fall into that category.I can say feudal lords cheered on every peasant more. But Jews always were only in towns. It was a choice, not their only possible destiny.
