What exactly happened to Westwood?!

What exactly happened to Westwood? I know they were bought by EA a while back. Did they just kill Westwood? I also heard recently that they fired the people who used to work at Westwood back in the day, such as Joe Kucan. With the recent failures, such as Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge, and C&C Generals, which isnt even RELATED to Command & Conquer. So whats going on over there?

If Westwood is truely dead, let us take a moment of silence and remember the good old days of Westwood, back when things were right...

Westwood was merged with EA and now called EAP. Yes, people were layed off/left, but that happened a while ago already.

I thought that EAP was a different studio, and that they took over the Yuris Revenge project from WW?

Well EAP will eventually be moving to LA and some WW people will be going to.

I've heard rumours that Brett Sperry might startup a company but I don't know how much truth there is to that. If a lot of WW employees decide to stay in Las Vegas then something is up. :)

They made a big big mistake when they fired Joe Kucan(Kane). He was really cool at being Kane. As a NOD fan that really pissed me off aswell as other NOD fans I know. By firing him they threw out any future possibilities of any more GDI vs NOD games. A new kane would not be the same and nobody would buy the game. Yes It is sad isent it. :-[ I guess thats how things go..............

I believe it was stated somewhere (couldn't find it, so I can't confirm) that they still could hire him to play Kane if need be :)

Well if they dont want to lose alot of money than that would be smart.

They probably won't need him though...I think they'll use the engine for cinematics from now on, like in Renegade and Generals.

I think that sucks!!!!!!!!!!! The renegade movies were lame without real people. And Generals dosent even have movies just like a starter for each mission. Real actors is the way to go.
