The Demon fighting Satan

I have noticed that with the iraq issues that america and other western nations are fighting the evil with tyranny. This started a long time ago. We funded them for fighting against Iran. We then funded iran to fight against iraq. Eventually when the kuwait incident occured, america attacked Iraq. That was a good reason to fight. Our ally was in need of help. A smaller nation needed protection against a bigger one and they asked us to protect them. Now with this new war, we are going into iraq with educated guess' and tentative evidance. Not only that, we are fighting based on globalistic tenents. We told iraq that they could not build weapons of mass destruction after the gulf war. Like hitler after ww1, saddam began building again out of anger for our country and to protect themselves against us. There is no way to destroy globalism. It has existed ever since woodrow wilson and the league of nations. I am just saying though, outside the laws and treaties of these global entities like the U.N. that they fight tyranny with more tyranny. The difference is, one is blunt with evil. The other is evil and they dont even know it. I think its sad. What do you guys think?

I don't want to sound like Montag's wife from Fahrenheit 451, but I'm not a big fan of discussing the Iraq/War on Terrorism thing. Not just because it's depressing, etc, but because I simply don't know all of the gritty details, so I don't think I have the right to make an argument either way. Also, almost every time I argue something, I'm wrong. But in this case, I suppose I'll make an exception.

Anyway, I agree with you entirely, TMA. It is pretty sad that things end up this way, as they often do. The whole idea of the war makes me wonder if we "deserve" to exist - or at least exist as a society of such large numbers. It makes me sad to realize that, deep down, very few people want world peace (I'm not just talking about Iraq, either), and that even fewer are willing to do something about their feelings.

Anyway, g'night.

Basicly what I've been saying all along. Note that Kuweit wasn't exactly a democratic paradise either, but Kuweit was important because they had oil, and Iranese civilians apparently don't hold any value to the US government.

Waiting till Emp labels this thread as EU inspired US hatred...

What tyranny? If USA builds concentration camps with gas chambers for political enemies, then you should call it such like. When Saddam took power, he looked like any other dictator. Not every dictator was bloodlust tyran on beginning of his reign - for example Hitler. He thought the West (read: France, not USA) would be always behind him, so he was enjoying markets with weapons and then marched on hated Persians - Iran, which lost US support after ajatollah Chomeini became Iran leader, and later Kuwait. From then he was always considered as aggressive. UN thrown on him sanctions, which showed ineffective. From then the West is trying to repair its mistakes with downing Saddam. We've made a mess and now we want to clean it, what's wrong on it?
