.... ok you're fucking up my arguments here :)

i'm trying to evaluate the fast projectile + shield theory... theoretically the rock should not go through, and just slam you a few miles down the road (or the rock would bounce off) and you would not get hurt, does that not sound strange to you?

In the Dune novels it says that the main weapon was a laser rifle, but in the westwood dune most of the infantry use guns.

The laser + shield really causes a little explosion?

Lasguns were not the mian weapons in the Dune books until the last two novels. In the first three the primary weapons were knives and swords, lasguns began to have a larger prescence in GOED, but still were limited only to a few people the God-Emp personally permitted to ahve them,

I`m reading House Atreides of BH and that says that the HK and the Ixians use lasguns.

What about the bullets, the snipers rifle, guns etc in the dune WW games?

The prequel novels took many liberties. It is explained at length int he original novel that due to both there incredible expense and the fact that they are utterly useless (everyone wore a shield, shields are incredibly cheap, if lasgun hits shield, boom) no one gets lasguns. In fact, alsguns are so rare that when the Atreides discovered the Harkonnens had smuggled a few onto Arrakis, the Duke had to quickly leave his own welcoming party and his entire family sleeped, what, three hundred feet under ground surrounded by concrete? Something like that.
