Hey y'all. I posted this question earlier LAST year after I bought this game, and am posting again much, much later to see if things have changed. My question is: has anyone created a mod/patch that allows my friends and I to play as allies a skirmish against multiple CPU opponents (who are on the same team)? I have looked around the various files on this site, but I didn't see anything which would apply.

Thanks! I really liked this game, but my friends never got into it b/c of the lack of a true skirmish mode.

well you and one friend can play against 2 computers that aren't allied but that's as far as you can go unfortunately. you can't even have any more than 4 players per game, including the comps. :- but if you're asking can the comp ally with itself...the answer is no.

Well you can host a online game with a maximum of four spaces taken up, by humans or comps. There has not been a mod that allows you to have a say 4 game filled with three of your friends and play against three more computer allies because the coding to do that is near impossible to break from what I hear.

I beleive if your doing it over lan at your house or something with a small network of PC's you can host up to 8 cpu or human players (hence the 8 player maps duh Rogue and Vil ::) ;D j/k) but noone has made it to were the computer wont stop attacking each other. Although Ghosty and someother mods had mentions working with the AI a bit. You can try in Dune Editing section here (if this thread doesnt get moved there) If I was a mod I'd do it for ya... but I can give ya a link (it also found on the Home Page under Hosted Sites Dune Editing <--a link ;)

i have never heard of that...

well maybe if it's a LAN game, i think then you could have 8 players....
