aox0m0xoa
i was installing emperor using a virtual drive running an image of the intall disc through the network because for some reason that computer couldnt read one of the files on the install disc. so i get it done installing and pop in the atreides disc into the real cd rom but whenever i tried to start a game it said please insert atreides disc, i knew the disc worked becuse i ejected it in the middle of a game. i then took an image of the atr disc and ran that and it worked. it seems to me that however emperor was installed it must be played that way if installed with a real drive it must be played with one and the same for a virtual drive
DukeLeto
The same is true if you have multiple CD-ROM drives. It MUST be played from the one it was installed from.
IxianMace
That is correct to my knowledge. I have a DVD ROM drive and a normal CD-ROM drive. I started Emperor with a CD in the CD-ROM drive, then tried to play a campaign. It asked for a different CD. So I put that CD in the DVD ROM drive but it still kept asking for it. I replaced the previous CD with the CD that was being asked for in the normal CD-ROM drive (which I installed Emperor from) and it worked fine. (Yes, my DVD-ROM can read normal CDs just fine. ;))
Nyarlathotep
Or you open the resource.cfg file with notepad and change the install drive letters ;D
IxianMace
Yes I've seen that before, but it does get tedious and hard to keep track of for me anyway. ::) The only things I change are what I need to change, like when I'm making a mod. :D ;D

Free tip from me ;D
