Arguing for argument's sake

Okay lets start arguing. Instead of "proving points", (which isnt effective at all), lets just argue for fun. I will start an argument about terrorists, can they be defeated? I personally dont think so. I think that from what I have seen, you can never stop people from feeling individual urges to fight for their beliefs. Just like the fremen fought against the harkonnen. The harkonnen thought of them as terrorists, but were they right? to the fremen, they were purging the scum out of the universe and protecting their homes. it is true. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

Hmm (feels to blame for this somehow), if any fighter uses tactics in such a way to strike fear in people while using violent methods, is a terrorist to me. Even if it is that country's last choice (which it never is).

An even better example of a terrorist in Dune is Dominic Vernius (if you have read the prequels). As you know, he, belonging to the renegade House of Ix wanted to destroy Kaitan with a stone burner - powerful nuke capable of a wide selection of ranges of destruction.

In the end he was stopped, but he could still do more damage than he did. He could have destroyed the whole planet of Arrakis, but chose not to, why? It would be a waste of lives of too many innocent people - Fremen - who had nothing to do with the conflict.

He chose rightly - but what about our real-world terrorists?

Damn the terrorist for now we will handle them later. This is what it is all about you dislike the fact that some of us can 'prove' our points. First you make this confusing thread about posts being too long. Now you and Acriku- have joined together on the boards in taking shots a certain members. Yes I see it all clearly now your trying to lower the thought ratio here at FED2K. So where is your side kick Acriku- at now will he chime in at the correct moment with his cookie cutter thoughts.

lol whoa. man somebody is hatching a conspiracy against us. Acriku, destroy the evidence! lol. Nah I dont know waht your talking about skywalker. I am just posting here. Do you have any valuable information? or just going to talk?

Personally I see terrorism as hard to explain. It is a perfect view of chauvinism. Though the terrorists are wrong for what they are doing and I am not jusifying the killing, we never try to understand our enemy anymore. We usually never have and never do. But to understand the enemy and see how he see's spiritually, mentally and physically is extremely important. That is why we cant catch the terrorists, because we cant even think on the same level as them, wither it is higher or lower than us.

Terrorism has been supported by many nations for many reasons. The use of terrorism is very dirty (make no mistake about it). The dictinary defines terrorism as follows 1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp for political purposes. 2. state of fear so produced. 3. government or resistance to government by means of terror. Oh stop your whining that is all you two have been doing the past couple of days. If you look at the post you'll see that I do have a grin face in there somewhere. sheesh :P
