No one is making you post so much or so little. Just take into consideration other people who have to face the 3 page topic the next day who can't post because they haven't read it all and will get dogged on for not reading.

Those topics end up like that because of too many posts, not too long posts.

How do we get too many posts? Well, two people (let's not give names ;) ) argue on a topic. Person A says something which person B finds extremely irrational/immoral/wrong in some other way. Person B simply cannot leave such an insane post unanswered and makes a detailed explanation of exactly why it is insane. Person A sees that explanation and finds it extremely wrong... and so the circle goes on, until one of them is too tired or has an urgent matter to take care of. THAT is how 6 pages appear overnight.

As long as they add something new it's not all that bad, but most of the time they just post the same arguments. Those people might just as well use copy & paste.

If you don't have the time to read it, then don't read it. It's not our fault. If we have A LOT to say on a subject, it is our right to say it.

no it is your fault. You exclude people from your discussions and make it impossible for relavent conversations. Most of those huge arguments posted are done with like 1 or 2 other people and just turns a whole subject into an argument over two people who can write more. I have seen posts with like 3 pages of only two people arguing! geesh

What you are saying is that I SHOULDN'T post my opinions and the facts that support them because it's too much for some people to read! That is a more than ridiculous argument. You advocate limiting conversation!

You have stated your opinion. I find it completely irrational and ridiculous. You do not have the authority or the right to limit the freedom of speech of posters on this board.

I actually don't see the reason for this discussion. Sometimes things need a longer explanation, sometimes they don't. There's not much more to it if you'd ask me...
