On what type of reaction is based N2 bomb?

All I can think of is some kind of very high yield gas bomb or a Nuclear fusion bomb (but this seems unlikely as its non-nuclear)

It was a large blast, very like nuke, which radiated the area, but on very small range with impressive firepower. And then came a second wave, little lights falling on surface with smaller explosions.

well it can't be TOO powerful. remember EoE? they dropped like a whole bunch of N2 Mines. if they were more like nukes they would've decimated a LOT more. so they are likely, like apollyon said, non-nuclear. and have a much smaller yield too. this is just my guesstimation though. :-

Also, in 19:45 of Rebirth (I see it now ;) ) is an army officier talking about "heat radiation cooling down".

heat radiation is just that - nuclear radiation cant "cool down".

what destroyed Leliel well it just might have been the beserk Eva unit 1 ripping through its skin having been inside it but I cant be sure ::)

So, radiation can be caused by other sources, not only nuclear fission... I was trying to find out, what is a principe of N2 weapon.

I read they dropped all N2s they had in arsenal to it. Shinji had hard job to get out from him. But you may know more.

yes but its obvious, when talking about a BOMB or a MINE that they are going to cause heat radiation I man otherwuse where doe that big explosion come from? There is no harmful radioactive elements in an N2 mine case closed.

and they dont drop mines in the end Eva 1 goes beserk and rips the angel to shreads.

lol, it's an anime series. and a damn fine one at that. if you get a chance you should look into seeing it. it's kinda sad how there's only like 3 people on this forum who have ever heard of eva. lol.

and apollo is right. Leliel wasn't just a few millimeters thick. it had an inverted AT field which enclosed eva 1 into it. a Sea of Dirac as agaki put it. their theory was to put drop all existing N2 mines into the target's center and deploy both remaining Eva AT Fields to centralize the force on one spot, doing something to the angel (i don't remember what exactly). their objective was not to retreive shinji, but to retreive Unit 1. as they said, "Even if it means destroying it." like i said b4 though, i love that whole sequence of seeing Unit 1 tear through the angel. it also gives some kind of 'foreshadowing' because what happens is Asuka looks up and says, 'Oh my god, is that what i'm piloting??' while rei just sits there and watches like its nothing special.

and speaking of this scene, does either of you know where i can find a 1024 x 720 backround of eva 1 after it tore through the angel? that's one of my favorite pictures but i can't find a backround of it anywhere. i'd preferably like it saying something too, not just the picture, bt i'd be happy just if you could find the picture in the first place.

That dimension inside Leliel isn't that angel. Little bit confusing, whatever.

But I have a one more question: why was Shinji so passive when he flewn from NERV hangar to help Asuka (altough late)? He just waited for crucification by Series.

well, lets see. to put it very bluntly he had very little confidence in his ability, he was in DEEP depression, uhm..., and he was a cowardly little wuss who didn't know an eva from an angel. lol, ok, well i'm not sure about that last one. but he was in deep depression. i'm sure apollyon can explain it far better than i could ever.

well for one he was obviously very shocked at seeing Asuka ripped to shreds ;D

apart from that its possible that he was actually unable to move, in that the anti-AT fields generated by the unpiloted seele eva series may have negated his synchronisation with the eva. Either that or due to some effect caused by the lance of longinus.

So, he has seen Rei nearly annihilated by Ramiel, and that just enraged him to crush it. Anyway, Longinus' lance is effective only in lanced target - what was the Eva-02 wreck. Possibly that anti-AT field. But NERV found nothing until the crucification.

if there's anyone else besides me, caid, and apollyon that read this, i have recorded one of the best sequences in the movie. the kaworu/shinji battle. anyway i recorded the thing and zipped it. it's 9 files b/c i was just using the Sound Recorder on my computer. the quality is half way decent too. lol. the problem is though that it is 3 megs. so i dunno if gob will allow me to stick it up. it's lower than the maximum attachment size tho. so gob, if you read this, is it ok with you? maybe it'll get two or three people to start liking the series as much as me, caid, and apollyon. lol. if you don't respond in like a week or something i'll just assume you don't feel like reading this topic so i'll put it up for a week or something at that point.
