IMO the best LAN game right now is Battlefield 1942, it is so great. You can play with a maximum of 64 players i believe.

the game is like this:

You play on a map where in the past a historical battle was fought, like operation market garden (Arnhem, The Netherlands) or Kursk. You then have to select if you wanna play the axis or the allies. The allies are either the britons, the amerikans or the russians. The axis are eithter the germans or the japanese, this depends on the map.

Everyone starts out as a soldier of one out of 5 classes. The best thing though is that you can control EVERY vehicle you encounter, be it a jeep, a tank, a fighter plane, a bomber, a submarine, a cruiser, a carrier, a machine gun in a bunker, a coast battery. This is incredible, especially because there are so many different vehicles you drive in. Unlike Counter strike you do not fight until everyone is dead but you respawn everytime you died and destroyed vehicles are replaced after a while. The point is that you have to lower the enemies "tickets" to 0. You can lower this by killing enemies or by controlling the most amount of areas, or flags. So you will have to go on the offensive and capture as many flags as possible and after that defend them or capture more until you have them all.

To come back on the vehicle thing, in many vehicles you can have multiple controlers. In a jeep for instance one can drive and one can lift (sit near the driver) and thus go faster to the frontline. In a tank one can drive and fire a cannon and machine gun mounted in the turret while another person can sit on top of the tank and control that machine gun. In a bomber one person can pilot it while 2 other can control the machine guns to fend of enemy fighters.

you have to play the game to feel the thrill but it is a lot of fun and is best played on a LAN

Single player however is also fun, while there is no real campaign it is actually just a multiplayer game but instead of humans you allie and fight bots, who are actually quite intelligent

does Ut2003 come with 2 playing cds? i'm NOT going to buy two Ut2k3 titles, i aint got $90!

will Serious Sam:SE work after you've burnt it?

Dunno Ethan. I work in the gaming industry, so you can understand that I will not help anyone with pirated games..

Notice that Khan said UT and you replied to that, which is what I replied to. That's how I got confused ;)

UT is awesome, good for low end computers, but I have yet to try UT2k3 so can't say if it is better.
