zamboe Posted October 10, 2002 Share Posted October 10, 2002 I want to buy a burner (CDR) and I saw this combo DVD/CD/CDR all together in one thing, however i really was not looking for a DVD player for my PC, but if this one comes with that sounds better. Please give a few tips that I should consider b4 buying a CDR.One more thing, my brother's PC has a DVD player separated from his CDRoom and this DVDRoom is atached to a decoder card (I think it decodes the DVDs by hardware) however i know that not all the DVDRooms are decoded with hardware, but directly with software. Most newer PC's do not require seperate MPEG2 decoders, because : a) CPU's are considerablly faster than a few years ago, and b) Most newer video cards (Radeon, Geforce) have MPEG2 decoding hardware built into them.There are many reviews online of CD writers.
