i read it and it was great fun. Good writing too. Darkelf if you would have understood the whole point of the story you would see that the son wanted different ways from the harkonnen. It was awesome I thought.

I understood that he wanted to be a poet, but if your raised with crulety more than likely you yourself shall be crule. I thought they made the ending too happy, [hide] I wanted to see him die, or somehow kill the machines off himself instead of getting fremen help, where they fremen? [/hide]

you can get it at www.dunenovels.com

[hide]I thought it was crap he survived, it would be better if they just took another unimportant harkonnen, and let him die[/hide]

I loved the short story!!!

I have now found out that I shall read the first butlerian jihad book before continuing on the original books.

and the zensunni were great fighters, taking advatage of their enviroment, just like the fremen.

btw. why weren't the atreides on the planet?

and what is Hagal?

The Atreides weren't on the planet because the house hasn't been formed yet, as you will see in The Butlerian Jihad with one of the main characters, Vorian Atreides, who is the son of the cymek General Agamemnon, and a trustee to the thinking machines.

I read the prequels in English (well, only most of House Atreides, I couldn't stand how bad it was), since the dutch translation was really poor and different than the translations of the original books
