Elite47
Well I have a problem where I will lose connection to the internet(until i restart my computer). But, the thing is that it only happens after a game of emperor. It NEVER happens any other time. Lately it has been doing it more often, and sometimes it won't do it hardly at all. On top of that, it causes some of my games to wash in emperor. I have DSL and Windows ME.
Nyarlathotep
I had the same problem with Renegade. After I'd played it, I needed to restart my comp to get connection again. I know I removed some stuff that was running in the background. Currently, the problem seems to be gone (I do not know if that solved it though).Do yo uhave anything running in the background ? Elite47
Well I have some backround programs that I don't use, for example Devgulp and Bttnserv. The only program that i start up and that runs while playing emperor is Zonealarm. Also I'd like to knwo what those programs do,(bttnserv, wkcalrem, alogserv etc...). Should i just close them down and if so is there anyway to stop those from running on STARTUP??
RotazoOm
what is zonealarm??
Nyarlathotep
Elite, I know "alogserv" is from mcafee, but can be disabled. It keeps track of when you scanned your drive for the last time.If you wish to stop background programs from running, go to start => run and type there msconfig. Go to the startup tab. You can uncheck the programs you saw running in the background (except for systary & explorer). I'd suggest to close only the tings you see running in the background. If you restart your computer and errors come up, check what you unchecked one by one untill the problem disapears. When you play, also try closing down ZoneAlarm.RotazoOm, ZoneAlarm is a firewall program. It's job is to prevent hackers to gain access to your computer. gryphon
Don't know if ths applies in this case but some DSL routers disconnect atomatically when playng gamez or getting a particular protocol. But this is probably far-fetshed.:)

Nyarlathotep
You might want to try and reinstall the game. If it doesn't work, please attach your dxdiag.
Elite47
ehhh, i guess it seems to happen only at certain times. It will be bad for a few hours or sometimes it wont happen at all.I guess ill just deal with it since its not a major issue, YET.
