I started work on the KH 2.1 patch. This will (hopefully) fix all KH2 balance problems. But first I have to find out what they are. So post here all your suggestions for better balance in KH2!

Balance problems found so far:

- The Smuggler Mobile Cannon has too few hit points

Eeeeh, The Siege Tank should be somewhat stronger. Or am I wrong, and does it the same damage as the Kobra?

And the Corrino should have a strong tank as the highest one in the tech tree (instead of the Wave Tank)

The Siege Tank actually fires a KobraHowitzer_b, so yes, it's the same thing as the Kobra.

I think the Wave Tank is strong enough as it is... it can scare off entire armies. Or do you mean it needs more health?

The worms are unchanged from the original Emp.

Okay, maybe I didn't exploit the Wave Tank enough. But the worm needs to be less vulnerable for anti-infantery weapons.

And the Guardian should stay as it is, btw. It's a good tank, hehehe ;D ;)

Maybe I should give the worm CY or heavy armor?

How about invulnerability? :)

(I mean just for the wild worms, not the worm riders)

No, I can't improve the wormrider, he's strong enough as it is.

But as was wondering about the subhouses... maybe I should fix some balance problems from the original Emp.

- Should I give the Leech bullet a -1 spped (instant hit) so it never misses? (the Contaminator has already been improved)

- Should I improve the Guild Maker?

Ok, I'm finished modifying the Rules.txt, but before I make it an official patch, I need to know your opinions. Here are the changes:

- Corrino Detonator costs only 200 and is uncrushable (vehicles can't squish it)

- Corrino Sound Blaster now has the same amount of health as the Fedaykin

- Corrino Siege Tank has a faster Rate of Fire

- Corrino APC is faster and stronger

- Corrino Wave Tank is slightly cheaper (only 1500)

- Corrino AA Mine is slightly slower (but still the fastest unit in the game)

- Ordos Sniper is slightly cheaper (only 130)

- Ordos Guardian Tank has even more health (just a bit more)

- Ordos EITS is slightly slower (still much faster than in the original Emp, and don't forget it can kill any building in one)

- Harkonnen Plasma Trooper is a bit faster and cheaper (only 200)

- Harkonnen ADP does a little more damage and has a 40% longer range

- All 3 of the new turrets (Lion, Plasma and D-gas)have more health

- Leeches have been improved, they have instant-hit bullets (actually, this isn't a patch change, it was already in KH2, but I forgot to mention it in the manual)

- Contaminators, in addition to costing only 100, are now much faster, stronger and uncrushable (vehicles can't squish them)

- Guild Makers are faster, have more health, a much better Rate of Fire and cost only 600

- Smuggler Mobile Cannon has MUCH more health and costs only 900

Well, that's it. What do you think?

Everything here is fine, but I was just wondering about the price of the AA mine, and whether it will stay the same or be changed. Also, the Lion Tank should not fire a laser, but still fire like the pop up turret's shot (pop ups can shoot shields safely).

Makers should have self-repair abilities no matter what veterency level they are at, since hardly anyone uses them and they seem to be so fragile, ineffective, and costly. :)

The AA mine has the same price as before, 600.

Lion Tanks will still fire lasers, that's how they were always supposed to be. No changes here. And they're supposed to be bad against shields, to make up for the Elite Sard's ability to blow up any shielded unit in 1 hit, for a lower cost.

Oh yeah, you're right about Makers. They will have self-heal. All the time, no matter their veterancy.

I used the popup because it sounded like a nice laser without being the same sound as the other CO lasers. That'd be a bit repetitive.

I have an idea - the Corrino 'House Advantage' (equivalent to harkonnens having no damage-slowdown and ordos having selfrepair) should be unsquishability. I remember something about that in d2k - and giving the corrino soundblaster the fedaykin's health as well as the same weapon is too much, unless you increase the cost.

As for the wave tank, I swear it's as much trouble as it's worth.

Well, I changed the Lion Tank's muzzle flash to Ltmuzzle, so it should look more normal now...

The Corrino ALREADY have a House advantage! Their Rescue vehicle!

And I think unsquishable Sards would be a little too much...

The Corrino Soundblaster doesn't have stealth though... ah well, I'll make it cost 200. The stealth IS worth $50, don't you think?

Ah, true, but it's mostly the buildtime difference that makes the stealth cost.The rescue vehicle must be payed for, unlike ordos regeneration. Note that the rescue vehicle tries to heal sards on infantry rock - this is a pain. How about... remove the infantry healing for the rescue vehicle (Can you imagine a sardaukar who allows himself to be healed in battle?) and make the sards unsquishable (only the Salusa Secundus Sardaukar). Remember, they lose the Atreides Elite/training ability.

Wouldn't it be easier to just increase the Rescue vehicle's healing range?

And the Repair Vehicle was the advantage of House Atreides, wasn't it? It makes sense to me that the Rescue Vehicle is enough for the Corrino.

Hmm, ok, I'll reduce the Sound Blaster's health to 80% that of the Fedaykin.

Come on, we all know the elite training was next to useless... Except in the last few campaign missions, but you can't play a campaign with KH on!

I still say unsquishable Sards are too powerful. I'll make the rescue vehicle's healing range 2 instead of 1. It's gonna look a little weird, though...

About the uncrushable Sards, what use has the Guardian then? Edric (;)) does know better then anyone else the power of the crushing of the Guardian :P ;D

The elite-thing of Atreides was also something you need to pay for. You lost elite troops (what had cost money someday) and to build veteran units, you had to spend money.

And it's logical to give the rescue vehicle of Corrino a price.

It's fine now.
