Future for the Humans or other.

No, YOU are talking about it. I am talking about Greek mythology. Speak for yourself. And I am not going to further this rediculous argument about the existence of Greek gods/goddesses.

Gryphon, creationists often use entropy as one of their arguments against Evolution.  Entropy simply meaning that things in the universe tend to go from order to disorder and not the other way around (you probably knew that).

They say that life is continually becoming more complex, therefore violating the 2nd law of thermodynamics.  however, entropy can decrease in an open system if it is acted on by energy caused by the increase of entropy in another system,  i.e. the sun to the Earth.  The sun produces plenty of raw energy caused by it's own breakdown, to cause an increase in compexity and organization on Earth.

And I agree about genetic engineering (except that it is a practice rather than a theroy).  I think it is both good and bad. like you said depending on how we use it.

And Kirov, No we cannot prove or disprove myths, but we sure the hell can figure which ones are totally unlikely.  I think we can be pretty certain that the sun is not carried across the sky by a chariot.

Ok, just wanted to know for shure what you ment with "entropy". And the part of genetic engenering, just a warning before we whould start to "think wrong" and make shure we are both having the same interpretation about what we are saying. :)

Indeed. It would be very fascinating when there is a alien race. Like the Saiyans from DragonballZ that doesnt even need technology to have destructive powers. Instead they have the Power in their soul's or body.

Big bang attack! *Blows a whole planet up easily*

EMP is a ray beam which shuts down all electricy in hit area. It's created in all types of nuclear explosion. Ion or plasma cannon is based on particle acceleration. Kinetic energy of ions in very high speed is more powerful than primitive plutonium weapons. Also, the most powerful will be "preon" bombs, which are based on sub-quark destruction. Heat created in this explosion will start reactions in nearby atoms. This is a doomsday machine, which can destroy whole planet.

I hope nobody will discover it...Only Imperium!

1. Stop posting stuff like that Kirov

2. EMP may bring our future to the stone age. It is scary to think how easily it is to build an EMP bomb and set it over a city. Imagine one affecting the whole US! The world would never be the same.

Yea, I aslo heard of a hypothetical weapon, a sattelite that could fire EMP pulses, just as Golden Eye but than as "real". Don't think it has been build buy now, or will in the neer future. But still scary. It is [ almost ] impossible to maintain our "world" without computers at this moment. You get the scenario's the Armageddon filmseries are based on.

But still, It doesn't mean its the end of the World. Maybe for some country's it is. Like america for example.

Damn. in 19 years there is a meteor coming to earth, Scientists believe it can drive us to extinction.

" It hits the earth and creates a dust cloud on the whole earth. "  :-/

Do you know how many factors there are that can change the path of the meteor? Hitting a stray asteroid setting it off a few centimeters can really change it's course in the long run.

Yeah but Fantasizing Science boy thinks he know's everything about Science. He probably mixes up his theory's with Dune. Wait a few thousand years Acriku and we are in the dune Universe for real.

(( Not that i know everything about science. But some thing's are just logical just like what you said. A meteor can't be possibly stopped if it is at high speed, The moon is a meteor too i think. Try that for "size" :)

Moon has satble orbit as therefore neareast thing is an asteroid possibly, which have stable orbits, meteors don't have stable orbits and go around aimlessly, ready to samsh into something. (Trust me, I do A2 physics and know a bit about this sort of stuff)  ;)

You have meteor's and meteorites. One is just flying in our atmosfeer, the other is exually falling down on Earth. [ the first one burnes up in the atmosfeer ] The Moon isn't a meteor, it's a [ natural ] satellite. And even when it whould collide on the Earth I don't tink they will call it a meteor.

So they can never in the first place say that "a meteor is comming in 19 years". It becomes a meteor when it makes contact with Earths atmosfeer, when it hasn't contacted that it's just a comet or simply space deblies.

And thecnically when you see a meteorite as huge as the moon it will be way to late to think of anything anymore ;D

They "can" Predict meteor's coming in collision course with earth. I have my doubt's over science though,

And if a meteor crashes into earth that has the size of the moon. Wouldn't we all be crushed by the gravity. :)

Oh well, We will see what happen in the future, Right now we have to worry about the "Third" world war.

You'r saying they can predict possible collisions of objects out of space with the Earth. But it becomes a meteor when it hit's Earths atmosfeer, not a moment earlier. So prediction an impact of a meteor if simply foolish, because a meteor has already made contact with Earth's atmosfeer, so it'snot mutch of a "prediction" anymore, it's a fact at that point.

Crushed by gravity ? How ?

Posted

Yep, they can predict an possible collision with an asteroide, but not with a meteor. Because a meteor is an object that hits Earth at the moment. So when it doesn't hit it isn't an meteor.

1000 times gravity ? Because of a meteor ?

[ could be my missinterpretation, so that's why I'm asking. :) ]
