every time i try to dl a map or the map editor, it goes through the process and i dl the entire thing (under "Run this file from this location") When it finishes downloading, it opens Adobe acrobat reader briefly, then an error message appears containing something along the lines of "Error, File does not begin with .Bfd" How can i fix this or what steps should i take to solve it?

I dont have any other files that begin with %PFD., but adobe seems to open other files just fine, this does this everytime i dl a map or the map editor, is there a way i could change the file ending to fit what adobe needs to read it as?

ummm..when u highlight it, does it show it's extension? if it does then rename the extension to .pdf and then open ADobe Acrobat, go to file, open then open the file. If it still doesn't wurk, then rename back to it's old extension

If you are downloading Emperor maps they should be in .cmf format not pdf...

I'm guessing your file associations are screwed up and that causes Windows to load the wrong programs when opening certain file types.

As Gob said, the maps should be in .cmf format..

what extensions do the files have ? HAve you tried to change them to the correct extension ?

Also, have you checked for any viruses on your computer (with a recent scanner) ?

I've got norton 02, with all the recent updates and a network firewall, 128bit..i don't think we have ne viruses, the extensions still don't work when i change the to correct because then adobe says it doesn't recognize the file..which programs do you guys use when you open up your maps?

If the file ends in a .cmf format you have to use Map Packer and open them from there. Just put the maps in your CMaps folder and then tell the program to look there and you can open them directly from the program.
