This isn't really important, but I get quite picky about the way things look when I am playing Emperor. It bugs me that rocket troops leave those black circles on the ground when they are shooting at units in the air. I am wondering, is there any way to turn off the black shell holes they leave on the ground?

there are gfx for those though, what you could do would be to make them blank, so that they do not show up. I think it is a file like !%ring or something of that effect. What you could do is make it all pure magenta, (255,0,255), but that might make the sand invisible, or, you could try to match it with the color of the sand. Most likely to work would be to make it pure magenta though.

yes, they would. Now that you say that, that would be an interesting idea. Imagine if you made a unit wireframe! If it were invisible, you would lose it. That would be awesome!

What if I changed the projectile? I noticed that some units like the sand bike do not leave them. Is there something that the game uses to recognize when the rings are formed? Maybe I could turn it off for those units only?

Changing the color sounds interesting. I want to try that :) How do I get the file to change the color?

Well, the Trooper uses explosive rockets, the sandbike uses bullets, so, they have different effects.

It would be in the xbf encoding aswell I believe.

Nothing other than bad video card. I have it too. Also I have to switch to Win to see terrain textures or I play on black ground. And why is that black carpet on buildings, when they are being constructed?
