Hi all,

Just been trying to get Dune 2000 to work but have failed miserably.

Installed GruntMod 1.6.1.4 with and without hi res/1080p patch tried compatibility modes 95/98 with and without 16-bit colors.

Updated to 1.6.1.5 same issues.

Issue:

Start Dune and either get flickering screen after intro cut scene or get black screen and both times I get audio playing normally.

With 1080p patch I get unsupported video mode.

Tried manually patching the install with hi res patch and got errors during the patch. (Something to do with F:\ which my PC doesn't have)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

TheBlackMini

Did you check the troubleshooting guide in the manual? You might not have seen it because currently its stored in the game directory (we are planning on making it more visible), it is called "Dune 2000 Gruntmods Edition Manual"

Please show me a screenshot of the error when you try to patch to hires.

You can try to cap the fps of the game with some tools like DXtory. Not sure if it works, I haven't tried the program myself yet.

Hi D2k Sardaukar,

I am truly sorry but my computer wants to make me a liar. The issue has since been resolved after numerous re-installs and reboots.

All I can tell you is that it was a python error, it looked like the program was hard coded to a particular directory.

My attempt to recreate the issue in either Program Files (x86) or in the root of C:\ has been unsuccessful. With 1.6.1.4 or .5

I'm not sure what happened before.

The game still doesn't work for me though. Which is really annoying, I had it working on a work computer but when I got home nope! No soup for you!

I have a video of what is happening on my pc but the forum seems to only accept images?

Cheers,

TheBlackMini

I'm trying DXtory now.

EDIT: No dice, screen plays intro video in top left corner then goes black for the menu. I have to Alt-Tab and close the game.

Do you have more then one monitor on the PC? If so, you should try disabling the second one when you play.

I have problems too with Dune 2000 Gruntmods Edition 1.6.1.5

My system as Windows 8.1 x64bits - 1080p

The game run well for a while. I start game, play as some house, but after about twenty minutes the game block completely, the only solutions is to do ctrl+alt+del and log out of windows or restart the computer, because I can't finish the process of Dune.

Any one else have the same issue?

Have not heard of that issue. It sounds more like your PC overheats. Are you sure the PC gets enough cooling (no dust in cooling fins and fans)?

It's not one I have heard of either. If the game works fine for more then a few minutes, i would say it's not an issue with the game itself. You may have another program on the PC that is interfering with the game in some way.

I resolve the problem. I have the game to run on compatibility mode to windows xp (Don't know why I put it that way). I desactivate it and it works fine now.

The game give me another message and quit when i playing the new misson one mercenaries. Something like Ticket x: To many... "something" (I forgot to take a screenshot and don't remember what says exactly)

Edit: I made the mission two and after time is gone a message error appears again (it's different of the other)

you will probably need funky's dune2000.exe for this to work. In fact what u posted is a copy of the ini his patch generates. And i doubt that will work with gruntmods version. I know for sure that it doesnt work with hires patch as it has its own hires.

It doesn't come with the Gruntmods Edition yet like you said but it is going to be put in the next version when the kinks get worked out.

Yea, thats an error related to the score screen with the mercenary house. Working on fixing that still, but it means you beat the mission.
