Hi guys! I'm happy to see that there's something left over Dune 2. I know that it's an old game. I've tried arrakis once but it didn't work out so well.

I'll get to the point: I was thinking of making out a remake of Dune2 for Windows. I'll keep the graphics (maybe I'll increase the details & resolution) and I'll keep the movies, interface and appearance of the menus. I'll make a comfy unit control interface (similar to War2) and if I'm lucky, I'll try adding a multiplayer.

Everything will be Open source so the code will be available. I plan using Visual C++ for the Dune -2 application and Visual Basic for all service programs. I plan on using DirectX.

I have sufficient expirience and knowledge for this project.

I'll be looking forward to hear your opinion about my project. please Email me, reply to this thread or contact me by ICQ: 1515298.

I think it sounds great, you should go ahead with the project, might resurect the game again, which would be great. I've never played that much Dune2 but I think this will be a renosaince for it ;)

Sounds cool let me know if you need any help.

Stefan's email address is now:

He doesn't visit these forums very often if at all anymore. He is fairly busy with his RealBot program for HalfLife.

Hi guys!

A help with Visual C++ or Visual Basic will be welcome! please contact me on ICQ about it. I'll give you a small lecture about my plans. Please mention what expirience you have.

I may need help later on with remaking Tiles, Capturing sounds and musics, the cutscenes...

Thanks for your interest!
