what about print screening the units in E:BfD? and then just saving them with the purple background? in case there is a program for viewing those units separately and not ingame.

Good luck with that and the 360 rotation of units, with the angle, and not to mention zoom.

I honestly think that the reason people get bored of RPGs quite fast (which is a fact I think, i;ve heared so many complaining about this) is because once they level up, the main objective of the game is accomplished and therefore there isn't anything to fight for. Of course people can still keep killing things etc, but it's no fun after some time. It's the case of all games based on leveling up.

With WC3/Frozen Throne, you could go to level 10. Of course, the game is an RTS. And remains a RTS. One of your side objectives is reaching this level.

 

But if you where to apply infinite levelling, it could become funny. You actually want your units to turn into gods.

You see this in 255 ups maps in SC1. Where in some versions, you would stick with a certain strategy, while other players have theirs. In most cases, you wouldn't even reach level 150 before it ends.

 

An example would be where one goes infantry upgrades, one goes tank upgrades and one goes air upgrades. That way each player has a role and speciality. Thus becoming a RPG in RTS.

And to top it of, I had an upkeep trigger in it; "the less units you had", "the more money you would receive". It had hilarious moments with this.

 

There where many new strategies with the 255 ups addition.

Aqib, in all honesty I think you should finish your pending projects before starting another. For example there are no updates on era of war and u keep saying that emperor mod will be out soon, yet nothing got released and we are still waiting :)

I'm still making the era of war's rts engine.. lot of bugs..

emperor chronicles is getting revamped so it'll take some time..

few more missions to be made and need to do a lot of playtesting..

new units need proper test before I can deem them good to go..

other thn this I need to retake an exam which will decide my future..

overall i'm doing a lot of things nw..

major prob with era of war is bringing in the new system of buildings units and upgrades..

as i'm making it from scratch it'll need lot of conditioning before I can even release a sneak peak..

so I guess emperor chronicles the rise of corrino empire is releasing aftr two months or so..

and emperor chronicles the era of war is still under wraps..

and just yesterday i just finalized the new buildings units and upgrades system..

ordos house techtree is lot different now..

well the question I asked in the first post was can rpg be done in dune 2000 I never said nething abt making one..

I've three rts games in my hand.. I'm nw in process of emperor chronicles the rise of corrino empire..

after I began this topic I bought it just for fun..

it seems to be good..

can it be used to make dune rpg??
