This happens in every game? Because I know the mod (like all big mods) crashes sometimes, after a while.

But not with lagging...

After how long playing does this happen? Or is it complete random?

Try playing with this ArtIni file once (attached) it is from the non-graphics version. You will see no new models, but then I can see if this a problems with graphics/models or one in the Rules.txt [attachment archived by Gobalopper]

I never got lagging in singleplayer, but I do get it when playing multiplayer (over a LAN) . But I noticed the game crashes as soon as someone builds the air drone... (haven't tried the version without models yet), and also for some reason the modswapper won't work :(

I played some LAN games, and I dindn't get any (unusual) lag.

How worse is the lag?

About the Fremen Air Drone, thank you for pointing that out! It seems that I made a terrible mistake and because of that the game crashes when building the Air Drone, and I discovered why I didn't discover the problem when I was testing the game. (I created the icon for the Air Drone as one of the last things, and before that I already had tested every unit if it worked, and later I modified a file to insert the new Air Drone icon, and then I made a typo at a crucial place, and that causes the game to crash, because it tries to find a model which doesn't exists)

I've uploaded the corrected ArtIni.txt (rename it to "Artini.txt" and put it in the "datamodel" folder and overwrite the old one), and I will work at a patch which will fix this problem, and some at other balancing problems as well (which were a to minor reason to release a patch, for patching mods makes it hard for people to find out which files they have to download exactly, but with this Air Drone problem I must make the patch)

The version without all the graphics and models doesn't have the problem, since I've left all old units unchanged.

I've noticed the problems with Modswapper, and I can't figure out why it won't work (it did when I tested it) And now I have problems when I try open the program source.

That's why I have tried to remove the references to Modswapper out of the readme etc.

I've finished the patch.

I hope the Shai-Hulud mod itself will get updates soon, so people who want to mod, don't have to download 2 files, but only one.

For now you have to download these 2 files (the mod AND the patch)

People who already have the mod can download the patch.

The patch is NOT for the non-graphics version.

The changes in the patch:

- The Fremen Air Drone crash bug has been fixed (see my post above)

- The Imperial Sardaukar Bashar now moves with normal speed, and not so slow

- The Imperial Sardaukar Bashar now appears correctly when building, when training this unit, you can still train your normal (House Barracks) units at the same time. And you can't build the Bashar and another Sardaukar at the same time.

- The Fremen Lisan-al Gaib is now thougher, uncrushable by vehicles, and a faster reload time

- The Harkonnen Plasma Trooper has been removed from the game

- Instead of that unit you have now the Harkonnen Devastator MK II, a prototype of a new Devastator which can only be ordered by building the Harkonnen Signal Beacon, which will be available when you have built the Palace, and it takes a time to build.

Ok, the Shai-Hulud_mod zipfile itself (not the patch) has been updated to version 1.1

Now you only have to download that file when you want the SH mod.

The patch is only for people who have downloaded the mod before it was updated to version 1.1

(You can check your version by starting Emperor, and then in the low right corner you can see "Shai-Hulud mod" if you have version 1.1 it will be notified there, if there is nothing that tells you about the version number, then you have versions 1.0, and you need to download the patch (only if you want ofcourse :) ))

Well, I downloaded the 1.1 version (full, not the patch) and the bug was still there. (maybe I shouldn't have just copied the 1.1 files over the old 1.0 files?), but it DID work when I used the artini.txt you attached :) .Haven't retried a LAN game right now, but I do remember it wasn't really lag, instead the game just went extremely fast for a few seconds and then back to normal, then again very fast, ...

Hmm, the bug should have been removed. I checked the files withing the uploaded zip-files, and the bug was really gone.

Are you sure you overwrote all the files?

Guess I probably didn't hit 'overwrite', everything seems to be working fine now :) (using 1.1 full artini.txt)

One thing I noticed is a sonic tanks seems to have an easy time at killing a sand worm (one shot at close range), unless this is intentional :)

But that's just a minor thing and I have to say this is a truly excellent mod, great work guys!! ;D :D

The Sonic Tank was in the normal game also very good against worms (because a worm is big and suffers a long time from the sound bullet which goes through him) And since the Sonic Tank is stronger now, it is better in killing worms.

Nice that everything works now, and that you like the mod :)

For people who get an error message that some files are missing while using the activator I have uploaded a file to this url:

Replace the "SHInfo.dat" file in the folder where you have put all the Shai-Hulud mod files in with the file you have downloaded. Then it should work as normal.

(If you click the link and you see the contents of the file instead of downloading it. Try the option to "save link target" (this differs per browser you are using))
