Hi guy's, in some topic I saw,that somehow can edit the game, where i can play as mercenaries,emperor ... I just wondering,could someone edit ordos mission 7,8,9 where i will play as mercenaries instead of playing by ordos.. and ordos will be my ally...

i understand that,but can you make ordos mission 7,8,9 , where I will play by Mercenaries??? And give ordos the starport,or some base... I just like mercenaries,and I wanna play... Even those mission's,where they got only 2 windtraps and starport, in other word's, play as mercenaries in ordos mission 7,8,9 .. Very pllzzz can you do that?? It's my dream to play as Mercenaries,and get they reinforcment :)

what I meaned,i want to play they colour,and begin mission with there base.. like mission 7 - 2 wintrap's and starport,and get reinforcment's from starport,in mission 8 - have bigger base,like the mercanaries got... In other word's, AI will be Ordos , Me Mercenaries.. could someone do that ?

its impossible to play as mercenaries!! you can change some data in .mis files but game will crash when trying to use units , the sounds files are only for atreides ordos harkonnen, so it cannot be played for mercenary smuggler emperor fremen

we have not figured out yet sounds files, you can try to copy and rename but try use M prefix because A is atreides O ordos H harkonnen , possibly S smuggler F fremen E emperor M mercenary i dont have time for that, im trying to figure out other things

i worked out vars.bin file finishing hackign circles.bin file

read all topics regarding missions and game editing before do it.

vars.bin are variables or something , they control accuracy for death hand, ornithopter , crate limit , starport units cost and units regeneration on purchase. and starport units deliverance time

circles.bin is for shroud settings,. it can make unit see more/less change circle to something else, i did chessplates display on map when moving unit, it was very funny :D

welll okey, I checked the topic's, and I saw that the most popular programm is Sha-Hulud, Well I installed it, and I don't understand how to make a base,all what I understood,that in this programm i can draw My own map,and place some sandworms, but what about placing the building's, can someone tell me how to do that?? I searched every where about that, and i didn't find what I need.. Please can someone tell me how to do that???

I never got SD2 to work. Sound was screwed up and froze when i picked 2 of the 3 houses

Do you mean the "Second Edition", or the original 1994 release? Because in the "Second Edition" (to which I linked) everything should work fine. Besides, were you using DOSBox?

Super Dune 2, and i wasn't using this dos emu you linked, i think i shall try that.

be my mercenary ha!!

lets think deep. does is there any way technically to add new units/buldings ? i know tibed not allow this but i heard the converting cnc ra 1 units to dune , the pickup truck and mammoth tank. i saw them somewhere not in this boards

i know the some things were used fro red alert 1, the bulding placement style, crates, and in red alert 1 there is yet something like tornado or something but i saw a serpent that pass near base and started to drop thunders at base destroying it when units passwd throught "tornado" they were killed rapidly

i looked around dune2000.dat file, i think is something like archive, i searched for google on extracting/opening dat files and found program list that can do it the X is where we should focus on program, we can use hex editing to modify dat file, but why not slash it?

The AI do not have select sound files :/ you never here them select a unit, and they can use the unit without them.

The dat file is not the archive, its the file that hold all the data that runs the game.

The unit archives are the R8 and R16 files.
