A bit off topic but why 5771? It seems most calculations are around or even more than 6000 (With a 215 years stay in Egypt). 200 years less is a big difference.

How interesting! I learned just last year about this time that my uncle and most of his family had stopped eating pork for similar reasons!

(They're not terribly bright, either.)

You are not terribly bright either. Pork is low quality meat and it is better to avoid it. I like it but I do not buy it often. You see the Bible is above human wisdom. The reason that pork and other kinds of meat are prohibited is to protect your health.
