Mahdi
Anyone catch it? If so, did it make you more or less comfortable with the idea he'll be directing the next adaptation of Dune?
Mahdi
I just finished watching it and very much enjoyed it. Keep in mind though that as the pilot of a TV series, Berg may be the director, but it's Ronald D. Moore, the showrunner (of DS9 and BSG), who is in charge.Berg did a very good job directing though, but his style just does not fit Dune. Dune isn't meant for a shaky cam. If he gets a writer as strong as Moore we may have some hope though.
Andrew
When will shaky cam fad go away? They even complained about it in newest star trek movie.Or when you say shaky cam, do you mean BSG zoom in/out that was used?
SandChigger
I watched the trailers on some site or other and thought the show looked interesting. But Berg for Dune still sounds like a stupid idea. And is this Zetumer a "strong" writer? Mahdi
So far he's only done Casino Royale, which was excellent, although flawed.I think Berg is a competant director, just not the right style for Dune. Fincher would be my ideal choice, although original Matrix Wachoski's would also be welcome. I'd also put Richard Kelly out there, since he's already made a damn near perfect teenageboy with visions film. But that would be a very risky choice.
