I suppose not, that would make it annoying.  By the way, have you seen the deleted scenes for the film?  They took out some interesting scenes regarding the Klingons.

To get back on topic (sort of), the only Star Trek movie I've ever seen was the one about the confrontation of Cpt. Picard and his younger clone, who wanted to conquer everyone or whatever. It was late at night, and if it were not for Patrick Stewart, I'd probably have stopped watching it. The CGI effects for space battles weren't impressive at all, and neither was the story (which featured, among other things, some especially ugly-looking aliens who helped the Picard clone). Oh, and I've also seen bits of another movie where the crew had fun on the holodeck imagining they were 17th (or maybe 18th?) century sailors. Couldn't force myself to try and make any sense of what was happening.

No idea: I didn't watch it from the beginning. Since I'm no fan of the series (I probably watched more episodes of The Simpsons, Futurama and Family Guy with references to Star Trek than episodes of the show itself), it did not interest me much.
