I don't think an ISP can sell a crippled product, while having 1/10 the internet inaccessible.

wouldn't that piss you off?

I'd like to see you take that up with the Chinese government and see how your claims hold up. .. ;)

You're pissed for all the right reasons. Never the less. Depending on your contract they own the lines.

Reason they are blocking "guru" is that limewire and sharebear etc use it. They just went and blocked it again (but phoned me first to explain it). Makes sense since anyone who uses that crappy software should be stopped at all costs. Anyone confirm using google that they do use guru in update links or whatever crap that terrible software uses?

So I guess I might have to try other anti viruses. What do people use now? clamwin, antivir, avast! ? Are any as simple and unobtrusive as AVG free? (it obviously has to be free to use)

I could manually update AVG. Although I don't want to do that for my neighbor.

1. I'm not paying. They are using my property to route wireless internet traffic for 20 km so we get it for free.

2. The only alternative is dialup. And crappy free high speed is better than dialup.
