"And so, in my State of the -- my State of the Union -- or state -- my speech to the nation, whatever you want to call it, speech to the nation -- I asked Americans to give 4,000 years -- 4,000 hours over the next -- the rest of your life -- of service to America. Thats what I asked - for 4,000 hours."

~~~ George W. Bush
These kinds of blunders have been increasing for some time. It has not always been this bad, and now because of it I am not sure if it is even the writing anymore. I have thought that maybe some of the writers for the bush administration have dropped, or some scenerio like that. The more I think about it though, the more I am wondering how much president Bush is to blame for all of the ills that America is suffering. Dont get me wrong, I am not saying he is innocent by any stretch, I am just saying that there is something really weird going on. There are a few ideas that I have thought about.
One idea I had was that president bush is suffering from extreme strain from all of the bonified anger towards him. Many in america blame the problems we are having directly on the shoulders of the president. This is an incorrect judgement, because the blame needs to be spread to Bush's cabinet, the congress, and other beurocracies behind the scenes. I know now beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is only a puppet in some sick, twisted game of politics that is being played, and I think he could be going a bit crazy. He seems to be suffering from mild dimensia. I have heard that while he was a governer, though he may have been a bad one, he was lucid and could speak pretty decently. It just seems like there has been a radical change. He cant even read teleprompter machines anymore without messing up!
The other ideas dont need to be explored right now, Ill share them later. But do any of you guys feel this at all? or that there is something horribly wrong going on? even more than just the obvious cover up?
THinking about this stuff sends chills down my spine. To ponder who really is in control really does frighten me.
I am scared guys, scared because I have no idea what is truly happening. The only thing for certain right now is the fact that nobody really know who is in control in the white house. Sure, we can give a generalized (and fairly accurate in my opinon) assumption that certain wealthy businessmen and currupt politicans are working behind the scenes. The question is, what are the details of these people, and how deep does this stuff go? what groups are secretly behind all of this?
Personal Note: Leaving this as just a statement of how I strictly feel about it. I am getting evil vibes about all of the thigns happening in American government right now. Something really horrible is going on. I think that in the near future we all will find out that what really is going on is worse than we could have ever imagined.
This is not just "a mistake" Caid (and TMA), in fact, this has been going on since Bush became president.
Funny, isn't it? America, in my circuits, is the place where all conspiracies came from. Militias believe in that their government is controlled by either an outside force, or a secret government whose goal is to turn the USA into a dictatorship. The thing is - America itself IS this great power or "secret government". America has ruled supremacy over the world for at least 40 years. It is the only standing superpower whose "ideology" hasn't been defeated by a collapse (like the USSR) or a war (like the nazis). It has tremendous influence not only in the country itself, but in all countries. Who dare go against the US? Really?
And not only this - the US was supposed to be the nation of the free. What happened with the sepparation of church and state? What happened with free speach? Even now, the very question of Constitutional rights of every American hangs in the air. Really - do you even know what you can and can't do? What if you get sued. But by who? And what for? What is copyrighted and what isn't? You get arrested by the secret police (FBI, CIA, DHS) - but they don't need to explain why. What about the secret network of prisons around the world, with the supposed number of 9,000 people being kept without even knowing why?
The best of them is probably your constitutional right to uprising if the government is corrupt, and doesn't do what the people requires it to do. The PATRIOT Act eliminates that right, since it's supposed purpose is to "defend the US from outside and domestic threats". So, in order to overthrow a government, you need to organize (since I don't think you'll go to Washington alone with a gun, right?). But your organization will be stamped with the terrorist brand. It is these kinds of laws and regulations that quietly come into place, and when the people had have enough with wars, corruption and suppression, then it turns out saying so is illegal, and the US have turned into a police state.
You see - it isn't just now the problem seems to surface, it has already been there since the beginning. It is almost amazing this didn't happen earlier. A group with richness and power gets the hold over a whole nation - just as a corporation bought all of Bolivia's water some time ago. Hell, some corporations have more money than other, poor countries. And what bigger threat is there than it's own people uprising against these financial institutions and groups? Thus the needs of wars and terror. Where is bin Laden? Why did you go to war in Iraq?
The final decision lies on the people themselves. Only they can truly say "no, we don't want this anymore". But that is always easier to say than to do.
you strayed off topic otherman. Can someone please discuss what they think is really going on behind office? how you feel about the presidency and whatnot?
I think the use of the word "mistake" was incorrect. Please dont throw out an entire post because of it thoguh.
Let's say, you just made a thread about it. Say if you want it locked...for it doesn't seem to be a political, religious or philosophical question.
err it doeals with the current administration, and how currupt it is. It deals with the fact that I feel something is wrong with it right now. Where else would I put it? in General? it would turn into a pure PRP thread anyways, so honestly caid I have no clue what youa re talking about. THough you do have a bit of animosity towards my threads sometimes, which never really makes sense.
Please guys, humor me here, I am really serious. SOmething is really fouled up here, and I want to discuss what is happening, and why things are happening the way they are in american government. It is freaking me out.
I thought that the illumination of truth in politics about the current administration would create some sympathy or support from those who disagree with the presidency, instead  it is just different.
Somehow I am unable to understand, that you mean it seriously. Does such a mishappened word in media affect politics so much? If you would make a wider thread about such rhetorical errors of politicians, then ok, but wouldn't you do so in a general board?
Posted
nooo I wouldnt, because this deals with politics. This is inherently a personal topic, I mean read the title of the thread...
I also wouldnt judge someone for making errors in their posts caid. Yes I mean all of this, and take it very seriously. Something is really weird with the president. His slurs and speech are completely shot. It is ten times worse than it was at the beginning of his presidency. Not only this but it is worse than when he was the governer of Texas. I dont think it can all be blamed on the same jingoistic ideas being pushed outoverand over, I think that Bush is losing it.  Mishappened? what does that mean? I really dont get waht you are saying,caid. All I can get from your posts is you have some vague problem with my posts. If you dont like the post, then dont post, or at least contribute to it.
I am going to continue this thread, as I want to see how othrs feel on the issue of what the heck is happening in office.
honestly I dont see anything wrong with my post. It is very subjective of course, but really that is why I am asking for Opinions... not facts. I think my post is true in many ways. I want to get a feel of what other people are thinking on this issue. What are the motives of the neocons? It seems that it is strictly world domination. I am really and honestly freaked out. I am an american citizen, and I have a right to worry about my nation.
no... goodness
I am saying that it is a symptom of Bush being a puppet.
And hell, if the (supposed) leader of one of the largest nations in the world cannot speak properly, even with teleprompters, something is really fucking wrong. Why cant you guys see this? I mean it would be silly to think that Bush is simply an idiot. Sure, it probably is just that, but could it be something more? Have you guys read and seen how many verbal mistakes are made by president Bush? Have you seen that in almost every speech now the president makes some hugely bizzare statement? This has not happened in the  American presidency before to such a degree, this is huge. I mean what the heck???
Read ALL of my post, it is more than just the fact that the president cannot speak right. That was just one part of my thread... yeesh.
but one may continue to read and comment on what the person was focusing on, or one can pick out there error. The term for this is being a nitpick. There are times whne you make errors in your posts, would it not be annoying if people would pick out the errors instead of looking at the piece you wrote as a whole?
I dont see how I made any errors other than skin deep ones. It is strictly personal, so really there are no errors other than that of writing and grammer. There is no format for me to make  an error in the first place.
Well I for one don't think Bush has much of an initiative as a president, and yes, that he is controlled by some shadowy cabal of corporationism and power.
Now, if he is showing symptoms of being controlled this way around, doing their bidding? Sure, why not? Wouldn't you "loose it" if someone constantly played you around, especially when you have the highest position "legally"? But econsider my post. Is Bush the first one? And if not, then how long has this been happening? JFK, anyone?
Bush might have a greater dependence on his advisers, backers, supporters. Might happen, and it means a differently organized administration with this into consideration. Of course, being more dependent means also that the power goes to some other ones which are not as easily seen and repertoriated.
Things are going awry, stress on the guy is raising, his people might not be as supportive, it gets harder to keep the whole thing coherently... thus to speak coherently.
It's not about being crazy, it's not about being evil. He could be both or neither, while he could still get his speeches wrong. Especially if he put himself in a situation where he needs to check every single words to not unveil lies. Or if any other part of his supporting base is crumbling (supporters, voting base...), demanding him to double-check everything.
And a part of his base is religious, and so by puting himself on such a podium he could fall from 100 to nihil from the moment he doesn't look so much of a believer (because it's based on something people don't see: thus potentially unstable). The more he would have lied, the lowest he might go from a breaking point.
In parallel to this, I remember some news articles bringign the image of a solid rectangular shape in his back during a debate with Gore. It sounded like a host at first, but the eminent specialist came in saying that such a form could not be other than a solid square (to listen to those saying what to say). It'd really show Bush as relying on his internal supporters.
lol... remember seeing that. Even when I supported the admin I was totally shocked by that picture. It is obviously some sort of communications equipment.
Or Bush really is a robot with a battery pack.lol
I see wher you are coming from Egeides, and agree with what you are saying. I dont mean that he has totally lost it, but I do mean that it is obvious that things are crumbling around this administration, and I think it is showing its wear on the president. He seems to be losing it somehow. It is obviously much more complex than that, and all sorts of things play into this. Good point about how this administration has been caught in so many lies, that they are backtracking. So much so that they have to account for the lies about lies... yeesh they are screwed. We need this guy out of office right now. We cannot wait two years.
well, figuring that we only have about a month left till its 2006, I figured I could round it out. Here, let me rephrase it. Around two years. ;)
And that is a pretty funny pick, look at his face. that says it all doesnt it? a picture really is worth a thousand words.
Don't you ever forget, people...the state is NOT your friend!
We all know that we're just mascots of the politicians, and cannot be really free. I don't want to debate, but this is the fact.
He was elected last december correct? The term for presidents is usually 4 years, no? Wouldn't it be 3 more years as of this December? Am I missing something?
I heard that he/Bush/they wanted to change US laws so that presidents could basically go on forever so long the people wants them there. Anyways, Bush's term ends in 2008, but what month I do not know. Remember that the presidential campaigns goes on for about a year, so who knows...
I've always known that American democracy had problems, but, after spending three months here and seeing things from a closer perspective, I'm getting the distinct impression that American democracy might well be already dead.
Most political decisions are not made through discussion and negotiation between parties; they are made within one party or another. In fact, over large areas of the US, local and state governments have been solidly in the hands of the same party (either the Democrats or the Republicans) for decades. The act of voting seems to serve a mostly ceremonial function, because people hold inflexible party loyalties that seem unlikely to change no matter what policy their party supports. Most Republican voters will keep voting Republican regardless of what the Republicans actually do, and most Democratic voters will keep voting Democrat regardless of what the Democrats actually do. As for the moderate swing voters, there are few local and state elections whose outcome they can affect - and in any case, they never think outside the Republican vs. Democrat paradigm. With the two main parties using different rhetoric but supporting largely the same policies, the people are given the illusion of power when in fact they are kept powerless.
A simple fact is that no leader (or oligarchy) could survive for a month in charge of the US if they were seen by the people as being undemocratic and dictatorial. Therefore, if you want to set up a dictatorship in America, deception is crucial. You'd have to make sure the system keeps looking like a democracy to the majority of people. I keep thinking again and again of Octavian Augustus. For a long time after the de facto birth of the Roman Empire, most people still believed the Republic was intact.
