Slow loading times for "Unread Posts"

Like the title states, I get slow loading times for "Unread Posts" link in the top right of this site (once you log in). For a normal New Replies I get a page back in under half a second (usually sub 0.15 secs). For "Unread Posts" I get anything between 20 - 40 seconds since I have been looking, but some have been extreamly slow, more then 40 secs, me thinks...

Page created in 40.923 seconds with 11 queries.

Anyone else get this ?

Is this normal and am I the only one who notices ? :P

No, I've been getting this for a while as well.  I can't remember exactly when it happened, though it was possibly either the server switch date or the forum software update date... date. :P

I tried mine right now, and it was made in 23.42 seconds.  Used to be less than a second.  Something changed in the way the link works?  Maybe it searches the entire forum (i.e. every single thread) whereas before it didn't?  I know not... but it's definitely not just you, Erjin. :)

That in itself is a good thing. I am not the only one.

What does that link do?

It basically shows you ALL the posts made that you havent read, potentially all those that were created before you joined the forum, and all others you havent read or marked as read.

Can be useful for finding new threads without having to go to each board...

Ya that query can be slow sometimes. I think it is something they hope to have improved in future releases.
