No Improvement!

Well, I've just come out of a couple of online games of Emperor.  It's just occurred to me that I really am not very good at RTS games.  I mean, I thought I was... but then, going against everybody else made me realise just how mediocre I am. :D

I've been 'alright' at most RTS's... Warcraft III, Emperor, Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds... all been OK.  I can absolutely kill the Hard AI in all games, but to play against even the most inexperienced player is much harder.  I suppose that the people that I'm likely to play online have been playing for a very long time now, and are really good.  I've never been one for memorising keypresses or following build orders.  And I absolutely detest rushing.  Perhaps those are my weaknesses.  Perhaps that is why I never seem to get any better.

But I still love RTS games.  They are my second favourite genre, next to RPGs (which, I am glad to say, I absolutely RULE at ;)).  Even though I blatantly suck compared to 90% of the Emperor online community, it won't stop me playing.

So if you ever see me online (my nick is forres04 and you want an easy win to feel good about yourself, then I'm your man. :)

Thank God, I can do with the win, it gets depressing when you have a few bad days, you start questioning your abilities.  :P

Seriously, dont even bother trying to memorise keypresses or build orders, you will memorise them automatically ! You will start to get better automatically as well, slowly maybe, but if you play and dont give up cos you lose, you will get better. Just let me eat you a few times before you do.  :-[

hey forrest.....just keep playing and have some fun...emperor is great.

if u wanna lear something, read that thread, it might help u a bit to understand, what makes the other players a lil bit better.

Listen man you arent playing against normal RTS players.... the emperor community is so small that the skill is extremely concentrated.

Hey Dragoon did you give up on us or are you still gonna try to play?  I havent seen your nick around.  Try getting on the RA server its a blast.
