Dragoon Knight Posted February 20, 2005 Author Posted February 20, 2005 Not that they've told us so far. Here's the actual post on the homepage by the admins, stating what is to be changed in Age 4.This coming Saturday, February 19, will mark the end of Age 3. The following day, Sunday, February 20, Age 4 will begin. All accounts will be deactivated and made active again upon first login in the new Age. Chains of command will be maintained (but officers will have the option to choose a new commander if they wish). Army size will be reset and armories will be emptied.Age 4 will feature mostly minor bugfixes and adjustments over Age 3. There will be no major alerations of the game dynamics. Some of the specific smaller changes that will be made include:* Improved countermeasures against autobuyers* Adjustments to unit production* Allow two commander changes during the Age instead of just one* Searchable attack and intelligence logs* Repair All option in armory* Allow outbound personal messages to be deletedLooks to be a good age to me. Oh, and rumours are that KOC will restart at 05:00 GMT (about 4 and a half hours from this post)... I'll be online all night (or morning, actually) to keep you informed. ;)
Khan Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 Yeah I'll be here for most of the night/morning ;)
Barbarossa Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 Dunno when I'm going to be on. Dragoon, The name of my new army will be travvivian.
Dragoon Knight Posted February 20, 2005 Author Posted February 20, 2005 OK, thanks both of you. :) Myself, I should probably be in bed. But I figure: "Meh, it's the weekend. Sleep later." So I shall remain awake for as long as it takes. It just so happens that Jaszon (my commander, and your over-commander next age ;)) is sitting behind me on his laptop at the moment. He is quietly thieving a free socket of my router so as to nab a share of my internet connection. To pass the time and stay awake, we are playing non-stop LAN games of Emperor, interspaced by checks of forums / KOC / other stuff. :POh, and lots of coffee. Coffee coffee coffee. :D
Khan Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 I should get some coffee, but my kettle's down stairs and I can't be naffed to get it.
Barbarossa Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 My coffee maker blew up. Really, it did. :'(
Dragoon Knight Posted February 20, 2005 Author Posted February 20, 2005 This is where University flats are good... I have a sink in my room, which allows me to have water... on tap, as it happens. :PThus coffee is never too far away. Add to that the sheer uncomfortable-ness of this damnable chair I am forced to use, and sleep is no longer a threat. :)
Barbarossa Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 LOL, my chair squeeks like a rusty tank tread so I cannot move or else I might wake half the neighborhood. ;D
Khan Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 Hehe, well it seems Dragoon has left, so I'll probably go to bed too, so tired..
Dragoon Knight Posted February 20, 2005 Author Posted February 20, 2005 LOL, my chair squeeks like a rusty tank tread so I cannot move or else I might wake half the neighborhood. ;D:P Mine just emits an 'Aura of Discomfort +1'. And no, I've not left. It's just that Firefox eats up ~20MB RAM, so I close it when running Emperor to make things run a little smoother. True, it shouldn't matter when you have 512MB RAM, but my computer is funny like that. For example, it seems to run a 52x CD-RW drive, a 16x DVD Drive, a 40GB HDD, a GeForce FX5700, a Floppy Drive and several USB devices... with a 150W power supply. :O (This is very small :D)
Khan Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 Whoot then I'm not the only brit up ;D. 150W :O it doesn't make sense, Mines like the same, but I need 200W, grr.
Dragoon Knight Posted February 20, 2005 Author Posted February 20, 2005 :P I'm afraid to plug in my USB Pen Drive and my USB Dongle at the same time, lest my computer cease to turn on.Still no sign of Kings of Chaos. The list of appropriate links is being made in advance. All it needs is the crucial data of recruit links and certain other links that will not become available until the smegging age starts. :D
Khan Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 Hmm, are you in KoC chat? Someone said four hours, so 8 am, but it was a random person so it isn't very trustworthy...
Dragoon Knight Posted February 20, 2005 Author Posted February 20, 2005 Nope, I don't frequent the KOC chat rooms. The place to be is the Phoenix Rising channels, the alliance you shall be part of in a couple of hours time. :)I'll be posting the sign-up link for their forums as soon as Age 4 begins (along with all the other links, of course) and I'll direct you to the appropriate threads for gaining access to their IRC channels and whatnot.
Khan Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 Okay cool can't wait to join. :) But I'm gonna go to bed now, sorry, I just can't to it without caffeine.
Dragoon Knight Posted February 20, 2005 Author Posted February 20, 2005 No problem. Just make sure to check back here upon awakening. Chances are good that Age 4 will be underway by then. That is, of course, as long as the KOC Admins remembered to take their Anti-Retard pills this morning. Otherwise there's no telling when we'll be playing again. :PSleep well... *goes to get more coffee*
Dragoon Knight Posted February 20, 2005 Author Posted February 20, 2005 6 o' clock, and aaaaaalll's *smacks town crier with sledgehammer* ACK!Still no sign of Age 4 beginning. The Age 4 Startup Thread is ready... all I need is the URL for my recruit link, and for the smegging age to start! I require sleeeeeeep! :D
Dragoon Knight Posted February 20, 2005 Author Posted February 20, 2005 Tempt me not! Remember well Sod's Law! Should I rest my eyes for even an hour, Age 4 will begin as I slumber! This I do not want to happen. Therefore I must remain awake. Sleep shall be had later on today, when there is nothing left for me to do. :)Now is the time for waiting... and waiting...Oh, and the time is 06:23 for me. :P
