this is officially the trippiest movie I have ever seen (trippiest is not a word, I am aware.lol)

It is called Naked Lunch, has anybody heard of it at all? It is really really weird, but actually has a story with suprising depth if you try to understand it.

It is based on an actual account during the 50s, and the movie takes place during that time. Basically what it is about is this guy who is apart of the "beat-nick" crowd. He is a bug exterminator by trade, but he wants to make a living being a writer, and one of his books is about to possibly be published once he finished it. He sent out some rough writings from his book and it looks promising. ANyways he starts getting into drugs, and eventually he finds out that one of the chemicals that are used for bug killing are actually hellucinagenic drugs. He and his wife, who are already drug users, start using it, and that is when things get weird. He goes to the office, and seemingly gets caught for using these drugs. the boss and the othe associate are there and are confronting the main character about using these drugs, and then the main character trips out, he is high while in this interview.

the boss tells him that there is one last bug he needs to kill, and he brings in a box. out of the box crawls this 2 feet long beetle, and the two people, the boss and the associate walk out of the room. The beetle crawls up to him and stays still for a second, and the main character freezes. Eventually the beetle starts talking to him out of this deformed and large rectum, and tells him that Intercom needs him as an agent. Anyways it is really bizzare and this is where his trip really starts. he goes home and mind you this really happens, he and his wife talk and finally they try to play a game like william tell, and she puts a cup on her head for him to shoot at with a gun, he fires and misses, it hits her in the head and she dies. In real life what happens after this is with the drugs and a sudden traumatic incident like this, he begins to have scitzophrenic hellucinations, and goes nuts. The rest of the film is him going through his odd hellucinations that explore his fears and his guilt. He also does drugs during this time and it shows his eventual fall into madness.

In real life he eventually gets out of this and afterwords he finishes his book. He also writes an autobiography about what happened to him, and the movie Naked Lunch is based on these incidents. It is one of the weirdest movies I have ever seen, but it is suprisingly complex and deep, and you see it all through the main characters perspective. It can be hard to watch, and is depressing, but it is nuts. I highly suggest it to anybody who wants to see something really twisted and dark, yet thoughtful. as I said it is hard to watch, but those of you who can take it, and love film, I highly suggest. It is a modern classic.
