Some of you may have read cyberpunk books, like Neuromancer and it's sequels, or other book projects. As you might remember, there are this "matrix", mirroring today's Internet, but the thing is, it's in virtual reality.

Now, I just can't imagine how "virtual reality" looks like. For example, how would a search engine work? How do you get back and forth within this reality?

Any ideas?

Hey all,

you also have to remember that with a true cyberspace, there will be no need to type, everything will be done vocally or with eye hand movments.

I have done some experimentation with true VR in my work, but until they get the resolution up ant the weight of the headset down ( and make it wireless) its not gonna happen.

give it 10 years, then william Gibson's idea of cyberspace will happen. but remember people just dont like looking silly (a major concern of the board of my company). They just couldnt see being in a meeting and having folk wired up and waving around like a loon.

Vocally? Why not just control things with your brain?

Well, that would take some time. At first, it will have to do with going vocally or by toutching something within the simulation. Controlling stuff with the brain requires implants, and the question will be how many people will be willing to have an implant for that. Though, the feeling of it would be like... wow *imagening*.

I've heard that they were going to begin experementing on VR for the internet or something. Is it true or am I only too dumb to believe in it?

Though, I did find a site where it said something about how VR for internet creates much more space and all, more info and interactivity... I'll find that link again.
